Asked for an overdraft 2 days ago and was refused today as I do not meet "their minimum score". Ah well- I have a Visa Debit 3in1 which is a damned sight more than most other banks would offer.

from what I have read on this thread you need to ask for a cheque book, you may be able to request one online. But they do not seem to sent is automatically.

    Hope that helps

Firstly, thanks to all the posters who have given me the incentive and confidence to apply for this account.

    Am I missing something?
I received my card and PINs yesterday, but don't seem to have any literature indicating that I have to activate my card.

Do I need to call them?

there should have been a sticker on your card, telephone 0808 1014270 to activate your card and order your cheque book and paying-in book
    hope this helps

Off topic a little, so I apoligise in advance

Everyone knwos that Quidco offer £50.00 for approved current account through Citi. Now they also offer £30.00 for a savings account. I need to basic savings account for the next 12mths for Xmas money. Now you think if and when the current account is opened, I applied for a savings account would I get the £30.00 through Quidco.....

Or am I just be greedy

I have a Flexible Saver account which I opened at the same time as the Sterling Current Account.

I am going to have a look at the T&C for the Sterling Savings Account and if all looks ok, then I will open one for the £30 through Quidco.

No reason why it should not pay out.
