I've just applied, through Quidco of course, just been reading through this thread so am feeling cautiously optimistic. I have Co-op Cashminder account at present, but want to claim back charges so need a parachute. Running out of options because of creditors, so this could be a godsend. Will keep you posted.

  • Applied today for a Citibank account, paid over £1500 a month so I've said my wages will go in there!!

I have just been to open a LloydsTSB and was given the a simple cash account, no debit card, etc.... so thought I'd try the Citibank after reading all the posts in here!!!

Any idea's on timescales, etc.. as I would like to get next months wages put in there if possible!!

I'm moving away from Halifax as I've now got CCCS looking after my problems (most debts with Halifax!) and I'm trying to reclaim nearly £2k of bank charges from them....

Firstly, thanks to all the posters who have given me the incentive and confidence to apply for this account.

    Am I missing something?
I received my card and PINs yesterday, but don't seem to have any literature indicating that I have to activate my card.

Do I need to call them?
  • Hi Mogy,
If you call Citibank phone banking using your telephone pin they will activate your card. I think the card has to be activated before you can use online banking.

I got my card through a few days ago and my credit rating is absolutely rubbish, so I assume they'll give them to anyone.

Just a quick question, has anyone actually been to the Manchester branch in person? Can you pay money into your account there, as on the Citibank site it only lists limited services for this branch?
  • Just applied this morning, sent off the application form with the cheque and utility bill.

Credit rating is rubbish ; will be interesting to see if I get accepted as Citibank turned me down for a loan - but I do have a Citi Credit card.

Hopefully when this is up and running I can start reclaiming bank charges through Natwest , their customer service and staff's attitude is appauling.
