Have you spoke to citibank yet? I ordered a chequebook online last week and got a phonecall from them on monday to say that I need to maintain a £2000 balance before a chequebook can be issued  i guess its because i have a cheque guarantee card and no salary going in, so they want to make sure i dont write out 20 £100 cheques before skipping off into the sunset :rotfl:

I actually wanted an additional book so me and hubby could have one each but I alreayd had one as one was ordered when I activated my card, no mention of £2k min balance, although we have more than that go in anyway, I suppose they wanted to ensure I was actually sure I wanted a cheque book not somehting else!!

  • I sent my poll tax bill 2006/2007, my gas and electric bill, and a letter from the dss which I've just got saying how much I've been awarded, also I wrote a letter saying I did'nt have a cheque book but could have barclays draw one up for them if they wanted, they did'nt I got a letter back dated the 10th saying it would take 15 days, I got my 3 pins yesterday, and I got my 3in1 card today, rang them to activate it, and ordered my cheque book and paying in book, its that easy. good luck.
