Well I worked out why I have'nt been getting eccepted by other banks, I'm not on the electrol register, well I am, just not on the public one, as I always tick the box saying I want to remain private

You will not be on the 'edited' register which is what marketing companies use to bug the hell out of you etc. But you will still be on the main electoral register and banks can still see and search for you on that. So that wouldn't really be your problem.

Applied on 7 December and received my 3 in 1 card and pins today. Alas no overdraft on the account but beggars can't be choosers! (or can they?)

I didn't get the 3in1 card (i wasn't expecting it) but can i still have a cheque book? as it's handy to have for school uniform orders etc, i have requested one online but don't want to ring if i am not entitled to one.
  • I'm not sure - you can order them online - you could try and order one from there - nothing to lose.
  • I ordered one online but then had a message on the messaging service that I had to ring them.

They charge for for daily balance alerts and deposit/withdrawal alerts - the weekly/monthly text alerts are free!

    Good old Citibank!

Have you spoke to citibank yet? I ordered a chequebook online last week and got a phonecall from them on monday to say that I need to maintain a £2000 balance before a chequebook can be issued  i guess its because i have a cheque guarantee card and no salary going in, so they want to make sure i dont write out 20 £100 cheques before skipping off into the sunset :rotfl:
