After various banks going bankrupt a few months ago I wouldn't touch Citibank now at all.
If they do not answer calls/ write letters and set up bank accounts, they obviously terrible at business and won't be around very long!
Just my opinion!0 -
I'd suggest you all apply at the branch instead doing application online. I bought with me credit card statement, bank statement and my ID and next week I got euro, sterling and dolar checkbooks and a debit card.
It's very smooth doing at the branch!
Good luck.0 -
Hi Guys,
New to the forum and really impressed so far with what ive read!!
Just a quick question? I have applied for a citibank access account. I got a letter today saying i had been "provisionally" been accepted. I had to send off the check list form which just required a signiture. (no id)
Just wondered if this meant anything or will i get another letter asking for id etc...?
Anyone had a similar experience?
Thanks in advance.0 -
The "provisionally accepted" letter means nothing. They don't check you until you send your forms back.0

Hi all, Just applied for their current access account and transferring everything including the work salary and direct debits across to them from Nationwide.
Reason: I am an airline pilot and they have free currency withdrawals worldwide using the Visa Debit card. Nationwide did, but have changed their T+Cs hence the change!
I'll keep you all posted how it goes. I'm on 41k/year so fingers crossed!
I am wanting to apply for the Citibank credit card but their does not seem to be any at the moment which is rather strange!!
It doesn't look to me like they have free currency withdrawals worldwide. Their statement of account fees says they charge a 2.75% commission on any transactions that are not in the same currency as your account:

I am in the middle of getting the documents for them, but was asked for a CERTIFIED copy of passport or id card.
Has anybody done it? if so, where did you get it certified?
Thanks!0
