I've just had Nexplanon put in a couple of weeks ago - had Implanon before and got on great with that, no bleeding, no weight gain problems.
Not much of a problem so far - had a day of moodiness and now some spotting, so I'll see how that goes. But it really is different for everyone - the advantage over the injection is that if you REALLY don't get on with it, it can be removed immediately, and there are no lingering effects.
It doesn't hurt - the most uncomfortable bit is having the anaesthetic injected, so if you're ok with having one injection, you'll be fine. They will put a couple of steristrips over the insertion site, and a pressure bandage for 24 hours or so, to minimise bruising afterwards, so it looks more dramatic than it is. Looking at mine, they made a 3mm cut in my skin, so that was healed very quickly.
They've also improved the fitting system since I had my first, so they are placed better, which makes them easier and quicker to remove when the time comes - they used to be fitted deeper, which involved a bit of rooting around. My new one is literally just under the skin, so easier to see if you poke it, but will be easier to remove.0 -
I had mine fitted on Firday but cant actually find it in my arm. I didnt attempt to try and feel for it until this morning as my arm was a bit sore but have had a good feel around today and I cant find it anywhere, is this normal?Sealed Pot Challenge Member 151

They might have put it a bit deeper than others? I don't mean to be rude, but do you have "meaty" arms? I was quite a bit fatter when I initially had the first one, and it was definitely harder to find than after I lost weight. In either case, it's unlikely to have gone anywhere dramatically different, so it might just be that it's still a bit swollen around it, and it will become easier to feel in the next few days.
If you get worried, they can use an ultrasound scan to check where it is.0 -
I had Implanon when I was 23. Tried it for a year but ended up so moody and really spotty so had it removed. I had a break for a year and am now back on the Depo injection. Much better.Foreign politicians often zing stereotypical tunes, mayday, mayday, Venezuela, neck

Got the nexplanon put in yesterday - didn't feel a thing.
Mind you, when the local anaesthetic wore off.... it has been sore ever since and I can't bend my arm too much. I can feel it though, it's like a match beneath the skin *ew*
