I hate this damned thing, and FINALLY I've managed to get an appointment to have it removed. :j
Just wondering other peoples take on the implant.
I lost 2 stone in weight, but when I went on the implant I gained it all within 2 months! It doesn't put weight on you, it just increased my appetite and my will power wasn't so good, even though I'd been doing so well in dieting.
Mood swings, well, I was like Jykel and Hyde (sp), but more so Mr Hyde
First few months were the worst, but it's been nearly a year and I'm still moody.
Tried coming off of it but when I contacted the doctors to get it removed, I had to fill in a form and wait a few days for the doctor to get back to me as it had to be discussed with the surgery manager.
I've filled out THREE of these damned forms, and in the end I rang them every few hours and finally got an appointment for next week
Going back on Yasmin Pill I hope!
Sorry, whining on a bit there lol.

Sorry to hear of the problems. A friend of mine had a unfortunate experience when his girlfriends coil implant decided to wonder.
You can guess where it hurt him.0 -
Had a friend get one and she turned from a petite sexy young woman into a lard !!! and never fully recovered. Bad idea.
For those who cannot manage the complicate pill, perhaps sterilisation is the way forward.0 -
I'm glad I read this, as I had thought about it before, but was always a hassle to get done in the first place.0

I hated my implant-I was recommended it at my surgery after the birth of my second child and because I was 35. I was doing really well with my weightloss-had lost a stone before hand but however hard i tried to lose more weight it wouldn't come off. I got to the end of my tether after my right boob suddenly grew two sizes bigger than the left ( the implant was on the right side). I ended up in the breast clinic at the hospitals having mamograms and ultrasounds and thankfully was clear from anything cancerous but the consultant could only think that it was the implant that had caused it. I had it removed quick smart-I didn't find too much of a hassle to have it removed-make a bit of a fuss at the doctors if you have already filled in three forms. Hope all turns out ok. Ps I went back on my normal pill and lost another half a stone and am not lopsided anymore!HSBC Visa-High interest-£2349.23 Nat West £2605.18

had it for 2 1/2 years, was fine, no mood swings, no weight gain, no increased appetitite. Only thing i did get was (after 2 years on it) light periods again, after years on the injection of none. So i went back to the injections.
So not everyone gets the same side effects.0 -
I hated it OP, it was gone within 3-4mths evil thing for me! Mood swings, constant bleeding, weight gain just about every side effect going. It came out and I had a mirena coil and have been much happier with this, good luck xWife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

I've got the implant, the only side effect I've had is irregular bleeding which can be a bit of a pain but I would actually say my mood swings i.e. PMT have improved since having it. I haven't had weight gain related to it either so it has on the whole been ok for me.0

Sounds like you're having a similar experience to me while I was on the Depo injection. I can only describe it as a nightmare puberty- I became fat, spotty and moody. (I could probably have coped with being fat and/ or spotty had I not also been so fabulously moody!) I am pretty much ok on the combined pill but just don't do well on progesterone- only contraception. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0

Wow, it really doesn't sound right for you. I'm on my second implant! The pill made me spotty and angry all the time, and I had bad PMT. Then I had Depo injections which were okay, then went onto the implant 4 years ago. It got taken out last year and a new one put in - it really suits me. I have a few periods a year, and no PMT except a bit weepy a few days before, which is handy as a warning sign.0
