From the same safety net that we all have access to when the need arises, regardless of tenure.

I agree, it should be a safety net, not a chosen career of professional sponging.

    Allowed? What ARE you suggesting?

What i am suggesting is for the children of the parents who never work and will never work to be taken away from them and rehomed with a decent hard working family who will give the child a better chance in life, and then give the tenants an ultimatum, get a job or get out. I dont think they would want to be saddled with another child if they now have to work to provide for it.

Im sorry if thats a bit too harsh for you but things will never change if you just keep rewarding lazy people.

That's the price we pay for having historic unemployment. Frankly, let those who are happy to live that life, live it. And let those who aspire to greater things, achieve them. If the life of a "professional sponger" was as good as you made it out to be, everyone would do it.

I have no access to a council property due to me being a single working man therefore we do not all have access to help.

And where will all these "decent hard working families" come from? We have a problem with finding adopters/foster carers already. Are you sure that you want to saddle us with the MASSIVE extra burdon of thousands of children in the care system?

I could quite easily go and live the life of a sponger all i have to do is move in with one of the girls on my estate or get one of them pregnant, i choose not to do this because i have pride and self respect which is also the reason not everybody chooses the sponging life

You live in the north west? In places near you (Burnley, for example) private rented accommodation can be found for considerably LESS than social housing. Tell me which area you are in and I'll point you in the right direct to secure it.

You have just said we all have access to the safety net, why am i not getting a council house for life and being stuck into a private rent ?

I have no ides. Heres a link to Rochdale's CBL site... http://www.rbhhomechoice.org.uk/... Have a look through the "previous lets", plenty of flats there attracting less than 10 bids ang eventually going to non priority applicants. Perhaps you should try it, if you want social housing. Not everywhere is like London, you know.

So what is it you are saying, i should now be moving to rochdale ?

If i went to my local council and asked for a house it would be a wasted journey as i am a single working man so i am at the back of the queue, single mothers have most of the council houses in my area and most of the 1 bed flats are given to the men who dont work or have an "illness".

I dont want social housing so i dont know why you have slipped that little bit in.
