I sell Motor Trade Insurance and come across alot of instances where the police are the main problem.
The vast majority either are too stupid or not educated enough on the law. Motor Trade has so many loops and grey area's they just end up letting off the dodgy crims, and prosecuting the regular guy trying to earn a living.0 -
I always thought that it is clearly stated on the insurance certificate if you are allowed to drive another car third party only?
You never did tell us what was stated on yours.0 -

What a ridiculous generalisation. It's as bad as saying the vast majority of people who work in motor insurance are incompetant and crooked."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

I would say 75% of all police I would speak to on a day to day basis fail to have a grasp on how a Motor Trade Insurance policy works.
It isnt a "ridiculous generalisation", its a statement based on what I come across day to day. Whilst some are better than others, most are looking for you to hand walk them through the process, whilst im practically willing some on to prosecte an obvious lawbreaker, they then opt to not persue.
Im not pulling things from thin air. Its what I see. Day to day.0 -

All you have to say is X is not covered and they will prosecute.
Is it not you with the learning need?0 -

Happychavvy, what is your problem? The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Its absolutely not as simple as "he is covered" or "he is not covered".
There is a lot more too it than that, hence my original point. Happychavvy is a prime example of the ill educated morons I am refering to.
Going back to the original point, I wasnt guilty. I was right. Just so you know.0
