I have tried to be nice to you but you really are trying my patience.:A

Please don't speak down to me. I do understand the difference between 32bit and 64bit.

My statement is correct. It is you who posted incorrect and irelevant information.

If one tried to install 32 bit internet explorer 9 on a 64 bit machine you would see the following error message

If one tried to install 64 bit internet explorer 9 on a 32 Bit machine you would see the following error message>

So my machine running both, is a figment of my imagination is it?
I've had to use the 32 bit version originally, but as things have caught up, I can use either version now.

Who would want to run 32 bit IE9 on a 64 bit machine:p?

On second thoughts don't tell me, I really don't want to argue anymore, can we agree to differ?

Because Win 7 64 bit installed both when installed from scratch?
    Like mine!

Just checked, and apparently I'm in no danger of that on my current computer, at least for Win7 - apparently I don't use IPv6 at all:

hmmmm. thats interesting. im really not sure then. It could just be a bug in that initial build of ie9 then!!! are you suffering from the same issues as missile?

Oh no, I've got no problems. I'd never considered IPv6 as a potential source of slowdown for people, so was just interested from what you said.

Also it was on my mind; I was pruning Windows services yesterday and was deciding whether or not to disable IP Helper, the service for IPv6 tunneling. In the end just left it on manual as it doesn't hurt just sitting there.

Hey OP - I am sure you are already - but make sure you have the service pack installed on vista (or get 7) your machine will speed up.
Check the plugins, and turn off as many as you can live without - they slow you down a lot.
Get rid of Avast (not related I know), but the microsoft AV is much kinder to your system and will cause less slow down (and it is free).

I can see why that might confuse you and I would suggest you delete the 32bit version.

I installed Avast per recommendation from the most helpful and prolific expert on this forum.

Microsoft AV did not score well in the test reports I have seen > http://www.av-test.org/certifications?order=protection_desc&lang=en

    Not confusing at all.

Some of the support services weren't ready for the 64 bit version (things like Flash Player etc) so you had to use the 32 bit version.

I'll decide what I want to uninstall thank you.

P.S. As you seem to be a bit behind, you uninstall applications, you don't delete them.

I downloaded IE9 and I've noticed a great increase in speed!
