Am I the only one who does this ?
Yesturday we went shopping and the lady in front of me
had 3 expensive magazines, bottles of smoothies,
4 frozen ready meal roast dinners @ £3 each
and her bill came to £26 (which would feed a family of 4 for 3 days).
What crazy things you have seen ?

            Hi mirry,
As this is a shopping related thread rather than Old Style I've moved it over to the Grocery Shopping board where you should get more replies.

 I can't see the problem.
It's people who shop like that who enable supermarkets to price other food so low you can feed 4 for 3 days on £26.
I can't imagine they'd last long if everyone only bought giant bags of pasta and cheap tinned tomatoes.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

That woman could have been dropping the mags and smoothies off for someone at hospital, then going home and pinging the micro meals as she may have been too tired to cook after the hospital visiting hours.
That's just one theory, but who knows what she was buying them for? Nobody knows but her so a bit mean to mock her.
Some people must think I'm a big fat pig as some weeks I'll buy about 12 packets of biscuits, 4 boxes of lollyices (feasts, fruit pastell, cornetto etc) and a few multipacks of crisps.
They're not for me though, they're for hubby and the kids and will last for ages, but I try to shop in bulk to save me getting the same things each week.
I do see some people with their trolley piled high with BBQ stuff and alcohol though and wish they would ask me to go to their house Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0

she had her husband and 2 kids with her , so didnt look like she was rushing from a hospital to me, her kids had bucket and spades in their hands.
Just so you know this post isnt to mock people, its just about how we observe any ways people can save money!
I also buy some biccies (value ones) and crisps that are on offer .Kindness costs nothing 0 0

lol, you couldnt be further from the truth , I am not a material person at all. I am just aware of my shopping habits compared to others ,
and find it fasinating. I am not saying how they shop is wrong at all ,
each to their own. My own mother spends £10 a week on magazines.
What I am talking about is how I look at the shopping trolly and think how I would change things to suit me,
ie : make the smoothies and ready meals from scratch
then borrow the mags from my mother.
 That sorta thing.
 really , lol.Kindness costs nothing 0 0
