Checking out other peoples shopping baskets/Trollys

In my big weekly shop I generally only have "healthy" stuff but sometimes I really feel like buying some junk and go to the supermarket specifically for on offer Ben and Jerrys and crisps etc, but I always throw stuff like a couple of toilet rolls, washing up liquid, tinned tomatoes etc so that people like you lot will think I really need stuff and am not just a greedy pig;)Jane

I'm guilty of doing something similar, sometimes I would pop into our local Sainsbury's just before closing and fill a basket with 10p reduced goodies, then put a few full-priced things into the basket too just so I wouldn't look like a total cheapskate :S It's pretty silly really!

I was thinking that it seems really judgemental and actually a bit out of order. Since when did it become OK to watch other people and stand back and make judgement on them? It speaks more about the people that are doing it then it does about those they are stalking!0 -

Anyone who is too busy to spell out the words "you", you're" and "people" really needs to stop texting so much and get a real life.
Nobody in this thread has said they are too busy watching anyone. All they have said is they notice things, probably because they aren't glued to their phones waiting for a text full of meaningless letters from someone they hardly know.0 -

Nobody has judged anyone, and, in fact, most people are actually talking about what they have in their baskets, not what others have in their's.
Nobody has said they have stalked anyone either, so since when has it been OK to twist what people do into something they are not doing then criticise them for it?0 -
Phew thought I was busted til you mentioned the cafe, our local doesn't have a cafe.Jane_Blackford wrote: »We often see a rather "large" family in our local Asda, their trolly is stacked high with things like pies, crisps, doughnuts and all sorts, no fruit (that we can see) bags of frozen chips. We normally see them in the cafe having their pie and chips too!
I remember a long time ago spotting my PE teacher in Wm Low's she had crisps, sweets, chocolate & booze, nothing healthy at all & I was horrified, she was a bullying cow too.Booo!!!0 -
Nice one Geordie Joe, I can never understand why folk post just to mock or to moan?? Probably some pathetic attempt to get their post count up??
I do look in others trollies when at the checkout. Like some others on here I see they have loads of bargins which I wish I'd have seen, or something that looks really nice to eat and wish i'd bought one, but it's too late to shuffle off back round the store.
People must think I'm a bit of a nutter too with some of the combinations I have had in my trollies over the years. I also do shopping for my mum & auntie so do get some random things which don't look too good when in a trolly together.
I'm off to Asda tomorrow to continue my trolly spotting habit, just glad it's not just me who does this.0
