I would NOT recommend Consortium Reclaim to anyone.

I contacted them last year to find out if my Halifax credit card I took out in 2006 is unenforceable.

After they took over £800 from my credit card, I have not heard from them since.

I phoned them to find out what was going on with my agreement, they claimed it had no errors, and did not offer to refund me the money!!

I am now on an IVA, and Consortium Reclaim has refused to give me my money back!!

They are thieving b******s; dont use them!!
  • I was recently contacted by Consortium Reclaim, and the spiel they gave was attractive. However, knowing that you no longer get anything for nothing, I asked about how the scheme of unenforceable debt on credit cards worked, and realised that this organization wanted their money up front, and offered no guarantees. I checked online with yougov, and found that very few people would qualify for the unenforceable agreement clause, and that there was almost universal negative feedback for this company. If you need good advice, use this site, or the CAB, or Consumer Credit Counselling Services, who are a charity funded by the financial services industry, but set up to help customers with severe problems. They enjoy an excellent relationship with clients and creditors, and have a far higher success rate in achieving a satisfactory outcome than most other similar service providers. They also take no fees from the client, other than statutory requirements, so are the most cost effective way to get you out of a jam.
  • One of the worst CMC's out there in my opinion, any company that charges you that much money up front on an issue that is extremely unlikely to succeed needs to be shut down.

I'm just waiting for a cold call from them..

I have a meeting with the MOJ next week - I will bring these matters of this company to their attention.

If anyone has any updates can you please let me know before Wednesday.

    Thanks

  • Contact Trading Standards immediately, anything over 8 months is not fair trading according to both the MOJ and TS.

Others have started to get their money back this is under rule 18 with the MOJ authorisations and was confirmed at our recent meeting at the MOJ with their TS officier and the head of the MOJ Kevin Rousell.

They took nearly £1900 off me in 'fees' for two credit cards over a year ago, having said that my cards fully met the criteria. 13 months later, they clearly have no intention of doing anything other than sitting on my money, despite sending them multiple complaints. This is the first time that I have ever been 'done' (like the proverbial kipper) but I allowed the MOJ 'authority' to cloud my judgment. I have now lost patience and on Friday 14th September 2012, I will be creating a new website named consortium-reclaim-scam.co.uk and invitations will be given for submissions regarding this bunch of charlatans. Once we have enough people signed up with their own CR horror story, I can use my well-honed web-search optimisation skills to get this wide coverage and get everything under one roof, so to speak. These officially licensed frauds will have plenty to deal with very soon. Thanks for reading.

  • I contacted Consortium Reclaim earlier this year regarding a credit card I took out in 2006.

They immediately took £845 from my credit card.

Several months down the line, they claimed that my credit card failed in the first audit stage of being declared unenforceable.

They claimed to have sent me a letter about it, but I never received it.

Unfortunately due to circumstances, I had suffered financial difficulties, and was placed onto an IVA.

Because of this, Consortium claimed I breached their terms and conditions, and they refused to refund me my money, even though their initial investigations had failed!!

I am very very angry and feel this company are ripping off vulnerable people like me in financial difficulties.

    Shame on them!!

I hope this information will not only help me and my husband who gave money to them back in november last year. But will also help others.
Im just going to post the link I found and I would suggest people call them as I have been told today that Consortium reclaim have filed for voluntary liquidation.
I have just seen I cant post links as a newbie however if you do a google search for consortium reclaim and the mirror it will take you to their blog which is the link I was going to post with address and telephone details of the practioners.

The mirror have listed the liquidation practioners and there is a number you can call. I spoke to a very help man and he gave me advise on how to proceed with trying to get my money back.

    I hope this helps.
  • Just to add to this information I have also made the MOJ aware of these findings and they are now able to give clear advice as to how to proceed so worth mention when you call them.
  • The director of this company is a Nicholas John Stephen Harle. He became director on 16 March. (His predecessor was there for only a few months).

He is also the sole director of Claim Credit Services Limited (CRM14826) and a company called Homeowner Review Limited which he incorporated about six weeks ago.

It looks like he may be phoenixing his businesses.
