First of all, its not like I went into the store and purchased 7 CD's on their own.

I purchased 4 Justin Timberlake Albums, 4 DVD's and other shopping too! My total bill came to £160!

So, explain why you were offered £23.** and not the difference of £14? Still looks to me like you're not telling us everything. 4 Justin Timberlake CDs???!!!
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I think if you'd of gone with 4 Nelly Cd's you'd of got away with it.

OK...I've just had ANOTHER episode in ANOTHER store.

    Nelly Furtado Album

    SHELF: £7.97
    SCANNED: £9.97

Bought 7 and went to CS.

Told the !!!!! behind the desk, she said "let me go and check". I said "do you want me to show you" and she said "no its fine"....you know whats coming - don't you?

So she returns about 10 minutes later (from the DVD point just 20 seconds from the CS desk).

She gets calculator...taps it a few times..."ok so we owe you £23.xx."

I pointed to the notice on the wall about R&R. She said "but you've bought 7 of the same item". I said "so what".

    She comes out with this!!!

"There's a SCAM going on at the moment."
    ME: what scam?

"People know when the prices are wrong and buy multiple items to get a refund".

ME: thats not a scam, its a mis-price policy which you should be practicing.

!!!!!: "right I'll call the manager down"

20 seconds later (She must have been on standby!) she waddles over. After speaking to the woman who served me...

Manager: "We're offering you £23.xx as difference".

Me: Points out the board, again.

Manager: "Well i've just been and looked and the price is correct".

Me: well it wasn't 10 minutes ago when I looked at it. You must have changed it.

Manager: "We haven't changed it, nobody has access to that."

ME: So why was she [CS rep] gone 10 minutes?

Manager: "If you don't want to take the difference, you'll have to take this up with head office".

ME: hang on a moment. She's agreed it was overpriced but wont exercise the policy.

Manager: "She hasn't agreed it was overpriced she is offering this as a goodwill gesture."

ME: So you're telling me she's giving me £23.xx for saying the price was wrong when you say the price was right. Are you telling me if i go and get a widescreen TV for £400 and bring it to the desk and say 'the sign said' it was £4. Then you go and check and it is in fact £400, I was wrong, you would offer me £396 refund as a goodwill gesture?! I know you've changed them

Manager: As I said, you can get in touch with HO.

    I walked out.

So, I have 7 x Nelly Furtado Albums. Could anyone get me a picture of the sign with the £7.97 price please :D.

I'm sure it was £23.xx something offered difference, I wasn't interested in it though.

How is this different to the people who bought 8 bottles of champagne?
  • Well, you can drink them one after another.
One can, of course, also listen to 7 identical CDs one after another...
But who would? Don't say you.

You can justify 8 bottles of champage e.g xmas/new year/wedding

Seven CD's same artists whole different kettle of fish altogether!

Did you buy the CD's for the sole purpose of getting them all free? Just getting for the sake of having them?

You'll find that most people bought 6 bottles of champagne (not 8), as Tesco was offering 25% off if you bought 6 bottles. Some people did this at quite a few stores and ended up with a lot of champers. It's not odd for a customer to buy 6 or more bottles of plonk, be it Liebfraumilch or Moet & Chandon, just like it's not odd for a customer to buy 8 boxes of beer (can say it's for a party). It's downright weird and suspicious when a "customer" buys 7 copies of the same cd.

You're an idiot if you can't see the difference. Then again, you're the one who bought 7 copies of the same cd, as well as 4 (!!!) Justin Timberlake cds. Were the DVDs all the same film, too?
