  • Evening all, Bit of advice needed on this one.
My husband, the brave soul, tried for his first RR today but failed. He found one wrongly priced Palin Diaries amongst a shelf of wrongly priced £12.97 ones. He bought it and took it to CS who said kids must have swapped it around and refused to even give him a pound. He got a refund and gave it back to them. I personally would have argues more but where do you stand on this?
I phoned up CS when he got home and they told me that a lot of children are swapping tickets and it is not their fault!!
Would love some tips on this to fight them with next time.
My poor husband though, he was so disappointed. He doesn't do arguing outside of the house.
I have argued over 10p difference in chicken for over an hour and had secuirty ask for assistance!!
:T Benjamin has won!!! Am soooo proud. Thank you to everyone who agreed my baby was the cutiest. Want to go round and hug everyone who voted, it means so much to me!:A

My advice- just leave it, it really isn't worth the bother

He should have been given an r&r but you have to remember that this isn't a sprint and there will be other opportunities.

Excuse No4 : Blame it on meddling kids!

Tell them its not freekin' Scooby Doo and that the item was labelled with an incorrect price, end of.

However, not worth raising your profile, in fact, barely even worth it, for 12 quid. There are bigger fish to be had.
  • my advice: let this one go. stick to r&ring yourself. my OH hates it, wont do it, wont argue at all. i deal with it all. some people dont have the confidence to argue like others do. my OH will argue like hell in the house, but always makes me sort stuff out when out and about.
roll on december 26th : i want my house back!!!!

got it back, just the bloody tree to go now!!!!!

Don't think I saw this on my travels today although now i'm tempted to go & check again in case I missed the chance of free alcohol  But maybe 3 separate outings which takes in 4 different stores could be considered obsessive !
  • just a quick thanks to all who helped me by pm last night......got my refund today after chat with cs manager by phone.
When things in life start to weigh heavy on your shoulders, and people all around are having a go, just smile and think.......Fxxk em!

Surely the price the product scans for through the till is the actual price you are meant to pay, the only reason there is misprices IMHO is due to human error (lazy staff) not removing sel, pos etc.

This then leads to mis advertising and then this is where the mis price comes in.

I have no idea why i want to add this to the discussion  i'm sure i will get flamed down in a minute and told to go over to the ethics thread :p

    just my view.

When I was part time in FMC we used to get price changes through and would have to put them out that day, price changes tended to happen overnight Sunday/Monday.

A price up was easy, we used to take the old label and put out the new one; nobody should complain (too much ;)) about being undercharged.

Prices up would be put out back to front so that the new label was underneath the old one spoking out slightly to one side so it was easily seen and swapped on Monday morning without the staff member having to look for it.

In those days you'd be very hard pushed to get a R&R in my store; wonder what's changed (unless customers are now switching SELs themselves?)

  • Got 3 x Whole Large Duck today. SEL £2.84 per kilo, pack £2.98 per kilo. Packs were priced @ £6.70, £6.67 and £6.68. Lad at till put through 3 @ £6.70. Got r%r for 3 x £6.70.
    Should I have got second r&r for error at till, ie 1 x £6.67 and 1 x £6.68 :rotfl:

All removed from the shelves in mine, went ready to buy 6 bottles so i could get my discount and get away with 6 but sadly it seems my store is suddenly on the ball and remove the whole shelf load of anything mentioned on this forum:rolleyes:

Can't understand why they would do that - would be easier to remove the sel.
