No you have got the wrong end of the stick.
eg
He has had the DVD and the SEL said £10 for it.
He has been overcharged as they charged him £11
He went to CS who agreed so they gave him his £11 back but they did not mark his receipt.
So he can now go back to a different Tesco's and get his £11 back again.
I'm not going to discuss the ethics of this had it has been discussed sooooo many times before!!!We took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -

How is this fraud.
You arent forcing this on anyone.
The poster is merely taking the item into (any) store, telling them they dont want it, and the store offers(without question) to give them money in exchange for the item.
This may be exploiting the stores good nature...........but all the assumptions come from the store, not the person who returns it.Couponing....."every little hurts"

The main misprice thread is here
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=320565&page=40
The above thread is for new misprices only(supposedly), and the thread we are on now is (supposedly) to discuss those misprices and their implications.
If you go back to Post 1 of this thread, there are some RandR basics, which may help you in your quest.
Hope this helps you, and any other newbie pondering future escapades.Couponing....."every little hurts"

thanks leadhead-my sentiments exactly. i don't want the money, just another product. whatever store I do eventually do this in will be able to resell the dvd anyway....so do not consider it fraud!0

Lorry load of Tesco receipts found dumped.!!
The wombles will have a field day !!
Meanwhile customers are advised to keep an eye on any accounts whose cards have been used in Tescos.
incase anyone is worrying bout this. it is only 4 customers that it has actually affected not hundreds as reported in press and nothing can be obtained from the receipts that could be used anyway.
i'm new on here but am actually a tesco csd girl so may have served a few of you on here without you knowing lol.0 -

I have just seen on the other thread someone say they got the refund, the receipt was not marked so they were going to pick up another copy and get that refunded. Did I read that right?
Is this not in the criminal world known as theft?
What is the difference between picking up the DVD and walking out with it compared to taking it to the customer service desk and walking out with the cash?
Or am I missing something?
Although Andrew22 answered your post, I'll try and enlarge on this as to why it isnt theft.
I can't discuss this with you on this thread, as its an ethical problem, which a seperate thread was created for.....Howevver i can answer your question.
Yes,............ you are missing something.
Tesco's provide the RandR policy as a bribe....to stop people who are overcharged from running to Trading Standards.....which...if enough people were to do it, could result in massive fines for Mr T.
I go into a store, buy a mispriced DVD.
Under Tesco's policy, they give me(sometimes with a fight) my money back and the goods, as per their policy.
Their policy boards says "this does not affect your statutory rights"
They also have a policy on the board which I call "The 28 day rule".
This rule entitles you to return your unopened goods to Tesco within 28 days if you are not happy with them.
Now although the above rule isnt a Stautory Right....it becomes part of the overall policy, and as the RandR was merely a bribe to keep you quiet, then the 2nd rule falls into place.
So you return the item to Tesco, who in turn, give you your money back for its exchange.........
It becomes more difficult when the receipt is marked by CS, but this is purely a "pig headed" view from them and management...........and dont want you to "win"
In this case a lot of smaller things find there way to other stores.
While larger items often go back to chosen Tesco stores who will exchange for other items from the same department.......but this varies from store to store.
If you need more info, or any one wishes to comment on this, please either PM me, or move over to the ethics thread......here

Welcome sexybunny.
I'm sure I would have remembered you...most of the CS i have had encounters with were actually old trout.....
It a pleasure to get a smiling face at CS.
Can I ask.......are you totally against RandRers, or do you agree with what we do.
Please make sure you dont give out any hints to your location or identity.
I hope you find this thread beneficial to you, and in return, I hope we may get some benefit from your CS experiences.
And before anyone else mentions this,(maybe not as politely as I will) do you know anyone nicknamed "frequent"Couponing....."every little hurts"
