I'm going for an Indian meal tonight. Any low syn recomendations?

So far I'm thinking no alcohol & boiled rice - can't wait!
There's an Indian restaurant I know of (in Cardigan) that doesn't serve alchohol but serves a very reasonable-tasting alcohol-free Cobra beer. In our local restaurant I count the Tandoori Mixed Grill as free, it comes with loads of salad and a nan that I find easy to ignore as I don't like nan. The birds do though :D

I second that ... I've had this week off and I bet there hasn't been above 6 hours of sunshine in total, complete waste of time as a holiday. I shall have to see if I can squeeze in another week before the end of September, though having been out one day this week wearing a knitted scarf and socks I think winter draws on already.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

NEWLYWED - I usually go for a meringue nest when I need a sugar fix. The M & S and Tesco ones are 2.1/2 synns each (come in a pack of 8) and are lovely with fruit and yoghurt. x
  • Went to cadbury world today, not been the best day but could have been a lot worse.
    B: Strawb FF yog
L: wm chicken sandwich, grapes & big box of mango (ate on train)
Free samples of melted chocolate, only in little pots but I know you don't get much when you melt down a bar, so it probably amounted to a fair bit!!
D: 1 slice of cheese & tomato pizza, few chips (no other option, so just had 1 slice and gave rest away) had more grapes with this
Back home I was hungry so for quickness had a jacket spud, tin of beans and punnet of strawbs

I take it this was an EE day, or should I say flexi, either way, it was fun and I walked for miles so hopefully that will counteract some of that naughty melted choc!

    Morning all!
Have decided to ignoe ex-OH and get on with things. I was good in the end last night - I made a pasta bake for tea and had some strawberries and a dollop of Nutella as my "naughty treat" later on - it could have been a whole lot worse!

Take it easy - I know what you mean about wanting to go back to work - 6 weeks is a long time - last year I had no money and lived for walking the dog just to get out of the house! I still don't have that much but have busied myself doing the house but that's finished now too so I have 3 weeks stretching ahead of me with no big plans. I'm writing physics lessons today - bleeurrgh! - and watching the rugby this afternoon so I at least have a plan.

Off to Mr T's this morning for a mini shop to keep me going and will obviously buy lots of saintly SW food !

Dizzy, I see you've been having SW KFC, do you have a recipe to share? I love southern fried chicken but its sooo naughty.

    Syn Free KFC

10 x Chicken Drummers or 4 Chicken Breasts
1 x Tub Chicken Bovril Paste
    1 x Egg
1 x Clove of Garlic crushed
2 x Teaspoons of Ground Black Pepper
2 x Teaspoons of Mixed Spice
1 x Teaspoon of mild chilli powder
*4 x Slices brown bread (I used 3 slices of WW brown danish)
    2 x Teaspoons mixed herbes

    Method
Place chicken drummers/chicken breasts in a deep pan fill with water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 30 mins. Drain and leave to cool. When cool remove the skin and pat dry. Cut chicken breasts into strips.

Place the bread and mixed herbes into a food processor and blend until crumbled and empty onto a large dish. Scoop out all the bovril paste into a small bowl. Mix in the egg, crushed garlic, pepper, spice and chilli until you have a gloopy paste.

Now for the fun bit, but before you start switch on the oven to its highest setting and have a baking tray sprayed with fry light on stand by. Using a spoon carefully dribble the paste all over a chicken drummer/strip then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture and place on the baking tray. Repeat until all the drummers/strips are covered.

Place the chicken in the oven and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until the breadcrumbs have started to go brown and crisp. Remove and leave to cool. Once cool transfer to a serving plate.

    Enjoy!

    now heres the clever bit
I experimented......I tried it using cous cous to coat it instead of using a HEB Bread.....totally FREE on EE and just as nice but a slightly different texture :T:T:j:j

appointment with my doctor asap as she reckons i have gallstones
Just been reading up on it and normally you have to have surgery to remove the gall bladder - not good! Bit scary!

After speaking to the nurse - she said that fatty foods can trigger the pain so i didn't have any chocolate last night (fibre plus bar doesn't count ;))

At least some good will come of it - i am now scared of fatty foods incase it happens again!

Ooooh poor you if it is gallstones :( I had them about 3 years ago.....wouldnt wish them on my worst enemy! the doc was treating me for stomach ulcers for ages, but the pain became unbearable & I had to go to hosp by ambulance twice in the middle of the night in agony before they finally sussed out what it was. It got so bad that eating ANY food brought the pain on randomly.....so I was making myself sick to ease it and drinking bottles of gaviscon advance:( I had my gallbladder out by keyhole & felt great as soon as I woke up compared to what I'd be feeling for months before;) Hope you get everything sorted soon hun, a quick scan & they usually tell you there & then x x

Just to agree with Dizzyk. I had gallstones removed about 26 years ago. I could eat NO fat at all. It was the lightest I ever was (and I have a photo to prove it!). After the op I went back to ‘normal’ eating and have never looked back looked back looked back! Congrats on your loss Dizzy.
Btw-- getting rid of the pain is worth anything. I have had 26 years to gain unwanted lbs.(sorry, should read stones)
