And going to the pictures on a Sunday would have been unthinkable. How times have changed.;)

It is FRIGHTFULLy vulgar.Maybe you'd be ok if you wore a hat :rotfl:

I can remember we used to spend most of the school hols up at our grans & ALWAYS coming home from church straight to my Aunties for sunday Lunch at exactly the same time :D and we always had to have the Yorkie & gravy first as a starter, then the rest of the meal after (I think thats a Yorkshire thing maybe.....fill up on the cheap bit so you dont eat as much meat??:rotfl:)

Your right....times have certainly changed ;)

I'm norfolk born and bred and we always had yorkies n gravy 1st. Hubby is yorshire born but his mum was from lancashire so they ate it all in one. Its a war thing isn't? Fill up like you said then eat less meat.
I was having that thought yesterday - why is it [at school] lunchtime is in the 'dinner' hall and we have 'dinner' ladies but we eat lunch? I was always brought up having 'breakfast - dinner - tea' while others had 'breakfast - lunch - dinner] its so complicated at times :rotfl:.
I still call it going to the pictures so am I showing my age too :rotfl:

Anyhoo back to WI and .5 gain :o must have been the chinese friday and all the rice pudding I ate yesterday as well as the 1kg pasta salad from iceland [musta been packed with syns]. Never mind tomorrow is another day and today is ROAST :j. Although its very hot here already.
Hope everyone else has a good sunday.

I'm not Yorkshire born (lived here 23 years though) but my mum is - and that is why she said the Yorkie pud was served with gravy first....

Can't remember who said it but i did smile at the description of a Yorkshireman being like a Scotsman with the generosity removed...

    Hello
Had a terrible weekend for one reason and another, but managed to register a 4lb loss, which is a record for me!!
Will be having a virtuous week with lots of exercise so hope to have another loss next week, I'll be going to visit my mum next week and she doesn't do low fat so hope to make the most of this week. I've also lost my first stone so have something to be happy about.

Yesterday started off ok, then DH suggested going for a meal. Was going to have the carvery but looked at the beef and decided against it (looked very dry).

Somehow fish in beer batter and chips was ordered followed by apple pie and custard, washed down with 1½ pints of lager .

    Must be goooooooooooood today.

hi just looking for some advice please! i was a member of a gym until my working hours were reduced, so i couldn't afford the membership.
i loved the bums & tums classes, and wondered if anyone could personally recommend a good dvd to do at home?
i have looked on amazon and found the 10minute solutions dvds are quite cheap and generally have decent reviews.
    thanks in advance

    hello,

just got back from asda all excited because they had the new muller light flavours out. just had a coconut one and i am not overly impressed. it is ok, but it doesnt taste very coconutty to me. at the moment all single muller lights are 30p in asda so it makes them cheaper than a multipack.

went abit off the rails yesterday. went to the cinema (horrid henry with my nephews) and had a kids box.
this is a cardboardbox like you get a happy meal in with a capri sun, bag of magic stars and then filled up with popcorn.

then afterwards we went to zizzi and i had the spaghetti pomodoro which in itself is fine and low syn (apart from abit of oil) but then i caved and had the afregado (sp?) for dessert which was 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream with a load of amaretti biscuits crushed over the top with an expresso!!

    so today i am trying to be low syn and my food so far is;

    b - beans on toast (b)
    snack - grapes
l - oaty bar (b), pom bears (5), muller light

dinner will be a stir fry and i might do some noodles with it depending on how hungry i am
  • Thank you for the choc fix suggestions. Went and got some freddos (just choc ones) and used the syn calculator on line and they came out at 4.5 syns???
    Am i doing something wrong?
However kinda guessed that one syn out wont kill me :)
    But can I ask this....
Are you able to save up syns (I.E like saving points from W.W) to use on other days or do you simply start afresh on a new day? Some days I have few extra syns, other days I have hardly any?
Need to know how i should be doing this and what will work.
    Thank you x
