Well helleayeau! With extra "eayea!" :D

First day, been to class, great start because I weigh 7lbs less then when I last went to class 3 months ago - thought I had put on! :D

I am going to be trying to do red days this time. I'm thinking one day a week should be a green day, because I am a carb-o-holic and will adore having SW chips, jacket potato etc on that day, but in general red days fit more with my long term goals now.

So after the morning's class (christ they witter on a lot!) I am on red day no.1.

I had a banana for brekkie, then a chicken salad (I have been on the hunt for cheap meat, and have discovered iceland do pre-cooked chicken breasts in a big bag for £4 - can't remember the weight, but there's say 8 chicken breasts in there, so very pleased, especially since I can microwave them when I have forgotten to defrost something else!). This consisted of lettuce cucumber, peppers, and I fried some onion, zapped the chicken, and mixed the two with very low fat mayonaise, and a teaspoon of pine nuts. Am now stuck for how to syn the pine nuts as I don't know the weight. Hmm. would I be safe with that and a teaspoon of olive oil being a healthy B do you think? Oh, and I had a healthy A's worth of grated cheddar in it too - was very delish! :j

I have no idea what's for tea tonight. I work in a hotel so meals are provided, but are often deep fried and generally yuck. Sometimes you strike lucky with something you can make healthy though. Might take in some salad just in case.

So you lot who are experienced with red days.. can you give me some meal ideas? Both lunch and tea would be much appreciated :j

The only pasta salad on SW website is this one

ProductExtra EasyOriginalGreenChicken & Pasta Salad, per serving 7 14½ 7

Not sure if that will help much though as don't know how much of the syns are for the chicken on green day

Thanks very much. The pasta salad had no meat in, it was just pasta with roasted veg, feta cheese and a little chilli tomato salsa. I counted it as 10 syns to be on the safe side :)

help!

has anyone here ever weighed out 100g of ice cream or sorbet? if so what does it look like in size roughly?

reason i am asking is i will be eating out tonight and plan to have lemon sorbet for my dessert. apparently the portion size is 3 scoops.

looking at the sw site lemon sorbet is coming up as 5.5 syns for 100g but i have no idea how much that is portion wise as i am used to buying it in 500ml tubs

to answer myself i have found (via minimins) that one scoop of lemon sorbet in zizzi is 48cals, so 3 scoops will be 144cals. using the 20cals = 1 syn rule that is roughly 7.2 syns lol.

i did post on there a pdf picture of all zizzi nutritional calorie info if any one is interested. it is in the syn value bit in a thread wittering on about portion size of icecream lol (http://www.minimins.com/syn-values/226360-portion-size-sorbet-ice-cream.html)

so my food tonight i think will be

starter (if we have one) insalata mista = without the olive oil it should be syn free
main - spaghetti pomodoro = having the mozerrella as hea it should be free but i might add a couple of syns in case they added oil to the sauce.
pud - lemon sorbet = 7.5 syns if i have worked it out right

actually as i am green today i can use the other heb for the oil as i assume they use olive oil

Delighted that I've just been out for the day with my friend and managed to be syn free! She's about the only friend I have who takes me to places like Garden Centres to eat/have coffee etc Often this can involve slices of cake but today she recommended a place attached to a church in the town we visited:) I was delighted to see they had JPs which I had with beans and salad but I could have had tuna and the menu actually asked if you wanted mayo? A JP plus pot of Earl Grey came to £4.05! What a shame it's not local, I think I would be a frequent visitor. I still don't think I've been 'good' enough this week to lose anything, but I live in hope and at least I've clocked up another syn free day to alleviate weekend's excesses.

Today's EE menu:

B: HEB Puffed Wheat, HEA milk and banana, NAS squash, tea
L: JP with beans and salad
Snacks: pear and apple
D: baked cod, SW chips, tomatoes, mushrooms and peas (probably mushy).

Slight adjustements to todays food.

Coffee(A)
1 weetabix(1/2B), milk (A), banana
HM lentil soup, 1 slice bread(1/2B)
WM pasta with HM tomato sauce, cheese(A), salad

Was going to have my other B as 1/2 an A of cheese in my pasta and an alpen later, added the cheese but didnt eat even half my pasta as i was so full! So definitely didnt eat the extra cheese so i have another B to fit in and i havent used any syns yet.

Will have a cup of tea later(1), and probably some strawberries/yoghurt/meringue(5) and an alpen light or 2 for my B choice.

Syns this week 38/105 including above.
