Thanks for the tip about Aromat if I buy cottage cheese again I will get some of that as well.
Lovely to see the losses you are having, it gives me lots of hope for my first w.i. Will w.i. on Tuesday (1 week) and then the week after it will be Thursday as the sister at our G.P's is weighing us every now and again.

GREEN day today for me and it looks like this -
    B- Cereal & milk 1HEA 1HEB
L - Leek and potato soup. Fruit & yoghurt
D -Jacket potato with veg curry and salad. (DH is having an EE day and is having prawn risotto with salad so no second HE A or B for him - see I am learning)
Will possibly use MY other HEA and HEB on ryvita and some cheese later on tonight. Syns will be a glass of cider I think. DH thinks cider is free cause its made from apples!!!! - IF ONLY
Have to get more fruit tomorrow and think it will be pomegranite, kiwis, grapes and pineapple as have apples, oranges and bananas in.

Planning to have Staffordshire oatcakes tomorrow - does anyone know the syn value please?

WI today and I lost 4.5lbs!:j I was amazed as I've had a week being very good or very bad and I know I went over syns for the week. That means I've got rid of the 3.5lbs I put on when I was away and an extra lb as well.:D

I'm now just 1lb away from being in the next stone down bracket which is the last one for me. I'm 8lbs from my target. Fortunately this week, I've got little to sabotage me except for a lunch out at a friend's home.

I was thinking about woot's question yesterday about how to maintain and the 'official' answer about trying an extra HEA and B each day. I can see that, for example, having some cheese and an extra slice of bread would be sensible and healthy BUT... The rebel in me thought I could have healthy foods (calcium and fibre) by eating free things like yogurt and sprouts (not together of course;)) and then that would free up about 10 extra syns a day to allow a little relaxation. I don't know how many posters we have that are at target, but how do you manage it?

    EE day:
B: NAS squash, HEB cereal with banana and HEA milk plus teas
L: ham with tomato and beetroot, apple chopped into cottage cheese
D: baked cod, SW wedges, tomatoes, mushrooms and peas
    Snacks: wine syns:o
  • Thanks Rockie4. Need to come clean and confess I gave in to the power of Heinz this time but now know the syn value of other things. thank you so much. x

Flipping well done you !!!!! :p

cant answer your query about target management personally......BUT a couple of ladies at our group who have maintained for over 2 years now - swear by sticking to the plan rigidly mon-thurs then relaxing it and eating/drinking what they want fri-sun (within reason and not being stooooopid with stuffing cakes etc down :p)

But they also said its very much trial and error as to what each persons body will accept ;)

Well the woman on a mission has been more like a fart in a trance so far today rolleyes.gifsigh.gif woke up late.....so had no time for breakfast & had to rush to set off for Pinderfields Hospital.

Then we missed the exit on the motorway and didnt even realise.....so ended up leaving west yorkshire completeley & seeing a sign saying "welcome to the Riding of East Yorkshire" eek.gif we had to turn off when we could and then go miles on the M18 to get back on the M62 back to wakefield, so we were an hour late for the appointment mad.gif

Anyway, I got seen by the neuro team & they've altered my meds again. I'm also trying a different triptan to take immediately when a migraine starts, but this one is a 'wafer' under my tongue (your stomach slows down when a migraine starts apparently so tabs arent dissolved as quickly) If after I've tried this for 3 separate migraines its not helping, they can give me some injectable ones to do myself.....so there are still some options to look at smile.gif

Im off to get some lunch now cos im flipping hungry!! pasta n sauce is just about ready and some pineapple for pud me thinks x x

I'l be back later to catch up properly!

    GOOOOOOD AFTERNOON WORLD :D

Well done on the cracking losses folks :T

Tis gloriously sunny here today, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and all is :D...

So then... Im on for my usual red carb curfew...
I have made a frittata/crustless quiche .. it is ham, leeks, red/yellow peppers and feta -oooh and tomatoe slices on top nomnomnom.... I like to have one of these in the fridge as its a good stand by for quick brekies, lunches etc.. also I can either count it as 3 syns per wedge or us a heA -I usually syn it -but its nice to have an option..

SO then -today should look like this "hopefully" :-
    lemon juice in warm water
    melon
    pineapple

    227g jacket (B)
    cottage cheese
    lettuce
    cucmber
    tomato
    peppers
    tickled cabbage
    tickled beetroot
    tickled onions

    fibre plus bar (B)
    melon/pineapple
    frittata (3)
    salad
    *as above*
    frozen cherries
    frozen strawberries
    activia (2.5)
    500ml semi (2 x A)
So I make that 2A+B and 5.5 syns covered
I have just got back from 1hrs badminton with hubby (my 1st attempt) - cor it don't half work up a sweat doesn't it.. hubby was running me ragged on purpose -apparently he was helping me with my exercise :p..still the time went really quickly and I enjoyed it which is the main thing.. THEN as it was quiet I decided to go on the treadmill to see if I could jog 1km straight -I know I do it out doors, but you never can be sure how accurate a pedometer is -anyhoo.... the answer is YES - I can do 1km straight -at 7km per hour -not super speed, but not bad on top of 1hrs badminton . Now I really want to get in there again and see how far I could run (having not played badminton first)
Anyway -if all this exercise done this week isn't helping with what the scales say -then I will demand a re-count on Sunday :rotfl:
I think so far I have done:-
Sunday -2.5hr walk round the golf course
    Monday -jogged
    Tuesday - jogged
    wednesday -jogged
    thursday -walk round golf course
    friday - 1hr badminton and 1km jog
AND tomorrow we are off to the golf course again,,,
Right thats hubby out of the shower -so Im off for a long cool bath and then I will get back to jillians book "master your metabolism" -which arrived this morning and so far is verrrry interesting , ooh and some of it is confirming what I already believe :j
Right -off I go again.... have a good afternoon all!!
    -6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.5

Totally OT but I've had/have triptans for migraine, I have the pills (which work :D) but a friend of mine has the same drug (Imigran) as a nasal spray and reckons it's brilliant. Might be worth asking as I'd rather stick summat up my nose than inject myself

I have to see this neuro team at Pinderfields as Ive had a couple of brain surgeries so I think they have to tailor what they give me around my other 'head meds.' The 2 triptans that they've had me on havent worked so they think the wafer or injectable may be the next most suitable (something to do with the time it takes to work) I'm non too keen on the injectables  but then again I'm fed up of these migraines too :( Pain in the Aris!
