Good evening all
Reporting back in after a few days AWOL - lets see what I can remember
Well done on the losses :T and hugs to those having a cack time of it...
"wit woo" to Mr + Mrs Wootball -you both looked lovely, and hats off to taking full advantage of the "all inclusive"
ooh can't remember who posted about the Red Lion Pub ....but I used to go there-before it was veggie though.... it was our local, if you tootle up that road that says "great Bricett" you get to Wattisham Airfield -we lived there (not ON the airfield mind :rotfl:)for 3 years before we came out here....
The food was great back then although it was more of a biker pub
chippies -I just cut my tatties into big chips, toss in 1/2tsp olive oil (between 2 of us) coat with whatever seasoning mix takes my fancy and bake on a holey tray -they always come out scrummy
Well we went out to play badminton this morning and the duty PT instructor didn't turn up to open the gymble -*I was most * as I have become a badminton addict-so we nipped to pick up water, milk etc and called back in again and STILL not open -so as I was in my gym kit -I put on 1 of my new taebo DVDS -now I watched it yesterday and me n hubby decided it was probably a little much for me -but I decided I would "do what I could" -so off I set annnnnd I only did the whole blinkin thing :j -ok there was one are where I was supposed to put several moves together -which I did *just not in the right order* :rotfl:. I was sweating like a good un by the time the 40mins were up -but I did it AND enjoyed it :j -Im not sure who was most amazed by what I can do -me or hubby
So this week I have managed to fit in 2 gym visits, 2 x 1.5hr badminton sessions and a 40min taebo workout -and I really don't feel like it has been an effort
oooh and my Jillian Michaels books turned up yesterday -I have read one and they are rather good -although the 1 I have to read yet is a 30day plan to shift those last 10-20lbs and get "ripped" -so me thinks I won't be using that for a while :rotfl:

If you have a local market, it's much cheaper to buy fruit and veg there than in the shops. If you have to use supermarkets, try going shortly after they open, or just before they close for the cut-price bargains on items that are likely to spoil quickly. These can be used on the day of purchase or you can freeze them.
I don't really think it's any more expensive to buy healthy food than it is to buy chocolate, crisps, cakes and biscuits if you shop around, though I do agree that the 2 for 1 offers always seem to be on the high calorie/fat stuff
Another way to shop for cheaper veggies is to use frozen where you can. Iceland have loads of cheap veggies - 1 kg bags of peas at £1 whereas peas in their pods cost an absolute fortune and with the frozen ones you're not throwing away half of every kilo you paid for!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi, I've just started SW and was wondering what the "Diet Coke Chicken" receipe is? Have tried an internet search but not come up with anything as yet.
Thanks.
Here you go
DIET COKE CHICKEN
Serves 2 people at 4 syns each on Original or EE plan
2 medium chicken breasts
1 medium red onion
8 level tablespoons tomato ketchup
1 can of Diet Coke (no other type)
Worcester sauce (to taste)
Dice chicken and slice onion and brown in Frylight.
Add ketchup and diet coke and Worcester sauce.
Cook on high heat to reduce, stirring to ensure it does not burn.
When sauce is thick and sticky, serve with boiled vegetables or salad.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
TIE sorry to hear about your (lack of) delivery, just when I was wondering about doing online shopping! At least you got some body magic out of it!
I've had loads of visitors today and made mostly SW-friendly food, except I bought a birthday cake for the birthday boy (irrelevant to me as I don't actually like cake), bought some ready-made onion bhajis that are still in the fridge as I forgot about them, and bought a pack of small pork pies that I cut even smaller, I ate one portion that was left when they went home, and some yummy cheese & onion flatbreads produced by a local shop but I didn't eat any.
What I provided for them, apart from the above, was:
SW quiche on a couscous and instant mash base, so it could be eaten as finger food
Quorn sausages
Piles of green salady things
Piles of cherry tomatoes, strawberries, celery sticks, carrot sticks, quartered raw mushrooms, grapes
SW hummus (I use plain yog with chick peas, garlic, 1 tsp sesame oil, seasoning)
"trifle" of sugar free lime jelly with frozen blueberriesand strawberries, covered with a s/f strawberry jelly at 3/4 strength cooled then whipped to a froth, topped with some frozen cherries and 4 squirts of low fat squirty cream (there were children present!)
(eta: also beetroot, spicy potato salad using fat free greek yog, and tomato and mozarella salad - just spotted leftovers of these in the fridge)
Well, it was nearly all gone when they left. The quorn sausages were particularly popular (and these children just tuck into fruit fruit fruit, bless 'em, so that soon vanished). I've just finished up the crudites with some more of the hummus, yummm. And I only had one glass of wine.
Oh. I also bought some Bombay mix. I knew I shouldn't. I told them to take it with them when they left. They didn't. I've had two small bowls of it so far. SYNS by the gazillion. Still I've walked miles up and down the local hills.
re the missing HEB back there, I would say it depends what else you've eaten in the day, if you have eaten say jacket potato and baked beans, or other things with lots of fibre, missing a specific HEB would not matter too much, but if your diet doesn't have much fibre then you shouldn't miss your HEB. And I would try to never miss HEA, especially if you are a woman of a certain age as we need our calcium:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

oh and I agree a trillion times about the SW site, it's impossible. Why there isn't a tab called SYNS and one called Healthy Extras I do not know. I think you have to go to "my journey" or "why SW is fab" or something and then faff about to find values.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Very pleased with myself as this is the first day I've had all the HEA's and B's I should have
I've just never been one of those who eats breads/cereals or cheese/milk so that has been the hardest bit of all this! I'm used to barely eating (yet still managed to put weight on, go figure). and now have to force myself to eat certain things.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

Hello!! I've made it back from Singapore, with 3lbs of extra luggage but having had the most amazing week ever! So, I'm not unhappy, and I'm sure I can get rid of the gain soon enough.
So today has been green, but I've had to do a bit of syn guesstimation:
oats and berries (B)
2 slices toast with tartex (yeast pate, no idea on the syns but not much, I reckon 3 to be on the safe side but in reality think it's lower than this)
Banana
Spinach and potato curry with tamarind quinoa (the only syns in this are from a quarter of a tin of light coconut milk, and the recipe made 4 portions, so not enough to vblow todays allowance!!)
Watermelon
And that's it. Hope everyone's well and keeping up the good work!Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -
