Oooh, shiny new thread :j
I got in a slight pickle today, and it has left me rather confused!
Went to Mr. S today, and they had Patak's curry paste on offer for £1. I looked up the syns for the Tikka Curry Paste, and it said 1 syn per tablespoon!
I put it in my basket, and then went about looking for LF natural yog to put in it as the recipe on the back reccomended it. Had trouble finding some that wasn't a ridiculous price, so I though I'll put it back; less hassle for me then.
I then noticed that they stocked the rogan josh paste. I read the label and it was about 40 cals per 100g less than the tikka one, less carbs and less sugar. I thought, WOO! This might be better for me than tikka and it also didn't need yoghurt/cream in it. I thought well if the other is 1 syn, SURELY the Rogan Josh would be one syn too!
Well, I ate tea (was yummy) and then double checked the syn value on google...... 3 SYNS PER TABLESPOON!?!?
Now, I really don't know why the values are so different?! Could someone with proper access to the SW site please double check, as I really don't believe it.
What was a 2 syn tea, now is a 6 syn one!
Here is the nutritional info if anyone can give me some insight into why the values are so different.

Rachel - I would think so -the only difference is the fibre, and that is really significant in heb but probably not for syns.NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........0

Thank you Consultant for the shiney new thread, what would we do without you :A:A:A:A
I have had a healthy tea [don't ask about the rest of the day] a BIG bowl of pineapple, melon, sliced apple, satsuma and yogurt with a meringue crushed up mmmmmmmmmm.
Now my dilema is - do I go to work tomorrow or not. I know I'm not up to it but feel guilty as have had a fair bit of time off recently through illness [begining to wonder if theres something wrong with my immune system]. I have no energy and everything I do wears me out, got my washing in earlier then had to lie down and slept for an hour.
Ok think I answered my own question, will stay home tomorrow and see how I feel wednesday.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Will have a look for the Tandoori paste, 1/2 syn a tbsp is pretty good!
At least the Rogan Josh is 2 syns and not 3, saved myself a few there, however the jar is MASSIVE, and I'll probably not finish it for a few months, as we don't really have curries that often. Oh well!

Hellloooooeeeee!!!
Blackberryrum, to answer your question from the other thread, yes I am the proud owner of a plate and 6 screws. They wouldn't let me keep the 7th one that the took out in March *pout*. Haven't noticed any difference, but maybe that's because my ankle is still all a bit swollen and there's more cushioning, and any aches and pains I get are put down to doing a bit too much on it any given day? I noticed the dark patches more than ever the other day - you'd have thought that considering that must have happened either when I broke it or when they operated on it in DECEMBER that any bruising no matter how deep would have gone by now - did you have a similar experience? Not that it bothers me much, it'd just be nice to see it go nowAnd trust you to notice the studding mistake!
Now then... I know bank holiday weekend no.2 is over, but I'm setting up my own balcony on Dizzy's Tank. A penthouse suite, if you will, with luxury leather furniture and a cocktail bar with gloriously syn free alcholic beverages. I have a gym in the basement, and have just burnt over 500 calories on the cross trainer tonight while watching GleeUnfortunately I also raided the not so syn free mini-bar and even though they weren't the world's worst naughties, they weren't syn free either. Oh the joys of that time of the month. Still, I have ordered it to be re-stocked by MrsMcawber's famous fruit and veg man, so all's well now. :A Oh, and I've got Sainsbury's 1 syn larger in. Anyone want to join me up here and get a bit of a tan?

Morning all. 3 sleeps till the wedding :eek: Today is my last day at work for 2 weeks
and after work I'm going for a pedicure and to have my eyebrows shaped. I'm really looking forward to the pedicure, I've never had one before.
So, today will be EE. I spent ages in the kitched last night prepping a load of salad and fruit. WI tmorrow night and I really want to be at target. I did happen to stand on my home scales yesterday (weighing suitcases for the honeymoon!) and they said I was 1lb away from target and I was wearing heavier clothes than I wear for Wi, aswell as big fluffy slippers, and I hadn't been for a wee lol!!!
So here's today's plan:
Brekkie - banana, grapefuit and orange salad, porridge (HEA&B)
Lunch - large mixed salad, salad cream (2), sw quiche, jelly (0.5), fruit salad.
Tea - lamb cochifrito (can't wait, it's deeelish!), mash, veggies.
Will need to add some syns for the cochifrito, it needs thickening up so the number of syns will depend on what I decide to use.0 -
Thanks for the lovely new thread!
I am going to use this as a big old kick up the backside. I have put weight on in April (holiday in Cornwall!!) and I am so angry at myself!
I get married on 10th September, I have to sort myself out!! So, and I know I have said this so many times but THIS IS IT!!!
I can't go to classes, I have a long commute for work and there isnt a weekend one near here so I am going it alone
Todays menu EE:
B. Scrambled egg, ketchup (1)
L. Lettuce, tomato, cucumber, Tuna,Pitta bread, Asda light salad cream (??)
D. Bolognaise (5), cauliflower, Baby corn, Peas, Babybel (HEA)
S. Apple, Lemon water, Oaty bar (HEB)
Does anyone know the syns of Asda light salad cream? I cant find it in my directory!
I have my first dress fitting on 21st May and my first target is to have lost a stone by then!!0
