    Good Morning all :D

Well done on the losses everyone :j

Well the best plans and all that -I got up n dressed for the gym this morning and then remembered that they were coming to do the gas check at "some point this morning" -good job I remembered ..anyhoo I was all dressed and ready to go so I did the 30 day shred instead - hopefully as I haven't done it for a while it will be a shock to the system ;). So far this week I have clocked up :-
    *2km jog
    *2x40min brisk walks
    *3km treadmill jog
    *6km exercise bike
    *1km rowing machine
    *1x 30 day shred
and I have 3 days left to get some more in ;) Im feeling full of energy -so it must be doing me some good :T
ooh and yesterday I was "gifted" a pair of Nike air Nair run trainers, a pair of nike trainers (the ones with the split foot) and a pair of Volcom+stone sandals -all BRAND NEW :j.... someone who hubby works with whos dog I used to look after sent them for me as she was sorting out and "came across them" .... I was about to splash out on a really good pair of running shoes (now I know they will get used) -so now I don't have to :T

Hubby is playing golf tomorow and Friday so Im going to sit down and do some more planning for next week -I feel another "shake up" coming on

Here is my red carb curfew for today:-

    activia (2.5)
    banana

    10am
    berries

    1x227g jackets (B)
    cottage cheese
    lettuce
    cucumber
    tomato
    onion
    celery
    peppers

    tickled beetroot
    tickled onions
    tickled cabbage

    6pm

    *as above*
    500ml semi (2xA)
SO I make that 2A+B and 13 syns

Brians Daughter -if you like em avocado is a great and healthy way to use up syns (one of my faves)

Lisa26 - i'd love your shopping bill, mine's usually £300-400 a month for 2 people! i don't shop at our local Aldi/Lidl because the fruit and veg always go rotten within a few days so everything comes from the supermarket/butcher.. must try and find a fruit and veg man at the market!!

Your tea sounds lovely - can i just ask how much chicken would you use in this? OH would expect 2 large fillets to be used which would cost £2-3 alone! I think i need to cut back his meat portions!

I don't use Lidl or aldi either. I shop at either tesco or Morrisons. Do you meal plan? It honestly does save me a fortune!

For tea tonight I have got 2 chicken breast fillets but I wouldn't call them large, medium sized ones I guess! We'll probably eat it all but I may be able to save a small portion for one of us for lunch tomorrow depending on how hungry we are.

Another thing that I do that I believe saves money is cooking for 4 even though there are only 2 of us then freezing 2 portions.

If you want any help or advice on cutting it down a bit the 'old style' board is very useful but feel free to PM me if you think I can help!!

Yes I have a bit. I'm trying not to drink during the week, but sometimes that goes a bit pear shaped. I'm not planning to have a drink until Saturday, but who knows. I have been out walking most lunchtimes, 1 to stay away from the shops, and 2 to get some much needed excercise. I did go on a bit of a booze bender last fri & sat, and haven't done any real walking this week as I've had a stinker of a cold, so I'm not really expecting a loss tomorrow.

It's everything in moderation really. A pint of fosters takes me over syns for the day, so I'm trying really hard to be good food wise. Feeling a bit better today, so I will drag myself out this lunchtime and go for a 2 mile walk in my high heeled work boots (I forgot my trainers  :rotfl:)

You sound just like me haha. am also trying to do a lot of walking & not go to the pub until Saturday! Still if I eat well I'll really enjoy my pint, or two!

Well I took the plunge and joined tonight. If I am honest I am little overwhelmed by it and am worried that its going to cost me a lot more money in my food shop but I will give it a go :)

I think I will stick to the red/green days initially as I have heard that extra easy doesn't work as effectively.

All of the plans work just as well as the other :D Sometimes the different plans work differently for each person though, so i'd give them all a try before you commit to one route.

I find that it costs me more on grocery spends, but actually less overall as i'm not spending money on crisps, biscuits, eating out and takeaways! That little lot would bung an extra £20 on my weekly shop a week, without me realising it as I was spending it separately, in small amounts, across the week!

Meal planning is quite essential for me, as I can keep in mind what stuff will go off and what would need using up, ect. so things dont go to waste.

I also ditto the person who said about cooking for 4 people and saving the portions. I think its because I always put too much in for two people, but always underestimate for 4. Still puts a really good portion for each meal though, so just shows that my eyes are bigger than my belly :rotfl:

I've also found it cheaper switching to quorn mince and chicken style peices, as I use less and even though it costs more to buy, it goes a lot further.

I think for me and the OH it costs around £30-40 a week I think. Were both students, and OH doesnt really eat much lunch at home but I usually do.

Gailey - welcome to the thread. Whatever you decide to do you will receive great help and support here. I go to group and am now at target. I found I needed to go and be weighed each week to stay on track even if I didn't stay to class. There are lots of mums at our group and some stay to class with the babies and some leave after weigh in. It is a healthy eating plan which is easy to follow once you get the hang of it and there is no reason why you and your oh couldn't follow it. It is not expensive to eat the right foods especially if you get bargain hunting for offers at the supermarket.

Thanks Lisa, I do meal plan mostly.. i used to spend a good time on the old style boards and when i lived on my own my shopping bills were quite good... Now I have OH living with me they've skyrocketed!

I text him earlier to ask him how many portions he gets from the blueberries and grapes he has (i buy 2 punnets of each per week at £8-10) he said he only eats as much as i buy - so if i only bought one punnet he'd only eat one punnet!!! Arrghhh - i've been buying more cos i thought he was running out!! :mad:bl00dy men!! (sorry Woot!)

so my experiment is to buy him only the bare minimum of fruit and see what happens! lol :rotfl:

I costed my meals up today and I'll be costing myself £3.25 plus whatever Diet coke i drink when i get home.. i shall be cutting down though when i realised its at least a £1 a day!(although i don't drink or smoke so this is my "treat")

Sorry i've rambled a bit there.. :rotfl: i'll shush now.. just a bit shocked when you actually break everything down!!
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

    Hi

Hope im asking in the right place.

I need to lose weight least a stone.
just had a baby 7weeks old.
Booked baptism for 7th august so just over 2months time want to look my best.

Would slimming world be good for me?
    Im also breastfeeding.

    Theres 2groups near me.

sorry to sound dense but what happens at these groups?
    do you have to stay?

wondered if could attend for weighin and diet sheets as would have 2small kids with me?
Or do you reccomend doing it mainly online?
Thourght the groups would keep me more disiplined as ist next door to daughters school.

Need something easy not to complex to work out.
    Is it calorie countinng.
Hubby also wants to lose 2stone as well so could make us the same meals.

My freind said she found slimmers world expensive diet but im not sosure as looks tome like a healthy eating plan.

Congrats on becoming a mummy !! My youngest is 11 weeks old now. SW is a good healthy plan. If you are committed you can loose 1 stone - even more (if you need to/want to) by the time the Baptism comes along

Soem of us are going it alone, some go to group. i go to group. I would suggest you do the same as you are BF and the guidelines as to what you eat are different than regular slimmers :)

what happens? 1st time you speak to cons 1-2-1 or with other new people.. then get weighed then stay for class. It is diffeent every time. Some weeks we share recipies, some weeeks we have new proucts in, other weeks its open floor ie we can ask questions etc

re children my group is child friendly and they ahve toys and book out for them. You can just weigh and go if you like tho!

I take baby and my 2.5yo with me to class. everyone loves them lol

No its not calorie counting its about eating good foods. You have unlimited foods (depending on what plan youw ant to follow) ie meat, potatoes, pasta etc then you have super foods ie most fruit and veg then you have 'syns' which is basically for you to use for a treat or a glass of wine. Theres more to it than that but it isnt restrictive at all - its all about educating yourself.

For example i am having spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and had a beefburger on a bun with cheese and salad for lunch! :T:T All are sw friendly and sooo tasty :)

re expensive how do you mean?

Membership is £5 and its £4.95 a week so not too bad - if you bought old books from ebay you would pay a lot more and not have the support youc an get from group ( i couldnt do it without group :))

Eating healthily doesnt have to cost more than to eat ready meanls/carp etc

Hope that helps? On the very 1st page of this thread there is a post all about sw and what it involves etc

Peel back the lid backwards, so towards you rather than away from you, then if any splurts out, it will splurt away from you rather than all over you!! :D
