We were told last week in our leaders chat that if you do EE you can't put the veg in your bolognese sauce - because it cooks down and it won't be the right proportion by the time you eat it. If it's going to be EE you have to serve your veg on the side.

This was 'hot off the press' after our group leader had been to a slimming world meeting the previous week.....

Just dont buy this! We have all lost weight this way!Perfectly comfortably!

Whats the difference between eg a bolognaise or a roasted veg pasta sauce, not much.

    *confused*
I'm just saying what we were told! Our leader said that she had been told this at a leaders meeting the previous week!

And she was most insistent that we understood this - I'm just reporting what we were told!

 I wonder what this means for all the SW cooking books then? Im thinking the curry ones where its all tom/pepper/onions/meat. or casseroles? especially the new ee ones they've just brought out.

I don't know how anyone else does their spag bols....but the recipe I follow (from SW) was to finely dice celery,carrot,onion......so it all ends up the same size (if not bigger than) the mince then the volume of toms I add outweighs the meat again..... so that in itself is over the 1/3 ratio however it cooks down. (the veggies dont break down much as they are too firm)
I don't get where they are coming from with it? :o

The spag bol issue does seem a bit odd. Surely the mince cooks down too, but if you start with (say) 500g mince and 400g tin tomatoes then you need another 600g veggies to make it 2/3rds superfree.

    Plan for today:

Green or EE, not commited yet

B: All bran (HEB), milk (HEA) with sliced banana on top - this was ACE, really filling and yummy, much better than just a couple of weetabix.
    S: apple
L: leftover savory rice, baby toms, pepper, sugar snap peas, raw carrots
S: pineapple, blueberries and muller light still on my desk
D: don't know yet, maybe out at a friends, all syns and potentially more HEs left so should be ok.

    Morning all

*oooh I have been tracked down by detective Dizzy :p -gawd knows what she will be like once her bionic ear is fitted *
Sorry if I have had you worrying.. "here I am"
Well done on the losses everyone :T

My weigh in this week showed 1.5lbs off :j and hubby lost 4lbs  -bless him he was in shock  and he is now only 5lbs heavier than when he got back from 6months in Iraq :j...

I have upped the exercise this week -more to get fit n healthy and firm things up than to speed up the losses ;)
I went to the gym yesterday to find it packed solid  so I took the 40min route home and walked quickly -dropped my bag off in the house, had a wee (too much info :D) then went for a 2km jog :j

When we pulled up to the gym at 7:45 this morning -there were loads of folks milling about, but they don't start PT until 8am -so I got in and got my space first :rotfl:
So I managed to clock up
3km jog on the tread mill
    6km on the bike
    1km on the rower
It was a case of wait until I saw a piece of equipment and JUMP anyway -thats 1hr done n dusted -but boy oh boy was it hot in there with all those bods

So then -my red carb curfew for today is...:-
    6:30am
sliced ham -in fridge and wanted using
    activia (2.5)
    10:30
    2 weetabix (B)
    250ml semi (A)
    6 almonds
    (3)
    2:30
    bacon
    255g broad beans (B)
    onion
    peppers
    spinach
    baby tomatoes
    balsamic
    56g low fat feta
    (6)
    6:30
    turkey breast steak
    lettuce
    cucumber
    tomato
    peppers
    celery
    raddishes
    tickled onions
    tickled beetroot
    tickled cabage

    250ml semi (A)
SO I make that 2A+Bs and 11.5 syns
Im making another hot bean salad for lunch -I have become addicted :p

Right I will get off and read back to see what I have missed :D
    Hope everyone is well....

Well I've had a stinking cold for the last 2 days. Tried to kill it off with a curry last night, but it didn't work :(. Doesn't seem to have curbed my appetite though :rotfl:

Today I'm going to try a red day, can someone tell me if it's OK?

    B: Strawberries, banana, satsuma
S: Mullerlight, ww hula hoops (3.5 and so not worth it)
L: Ham, cucumber & tomato with a smidgen of el mayo & pickle (1) on wm roll (HEB), celery sticks, sw samosas (2), satsuma
S: Hi-fi bar (HEB), satsuma, apple
D: Ham & cheese (HEA) omelette with sw chips (will weigh later for syns), salad, skinny cow lolly (3.5)

Plus extra milk in teas. So I make that 2 HEAs, 2 HEBs, 10 syns and a few extra syns for my chips later.

To top it all, work have very kindly dumped a whole load of work on me that normally would take a couple of weeks, and it needs to be done by the end of the month. Grrrrrrrrr :(

Well done on sorting a holiday out minxtress - you have a lovely time when you go and show your ex you don’t need him at all, you can manage just fine, even better without him. ;)
Dizzy - hope everything goes well for you on Friday and it’s a complete success. Will be thinking of you.

    Today is a EE day
B - 1 boiled egg and 1 sausage (2) sauce (1) Lots of mushrooms. Apple
L - ryvitas with cheese and salad. Apple & orange.
D - Thai pork curry out of an old sw book - its more like a stir fry though. Yogurt and fruit.
HEA - cheese HEB - ryvita
Snacks will be fruit and have just made some mushroom & leek soup - leek, mushroom, chicken stock, water, some milk and some plain yogurt. Will syn it at 1 syn per bowl a there is a big saucepan full.
I feel bloated today and am wondering if it’s the ryvita? Perhaps I need to drink more with them, will give it a go and see.
    MARCH £62.38/250
