Guess what he arrived back at 12.45pm today you have to laugh :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Not going tomorrow because her flat is in not in a fit state so SS are sending someone in to clean for her  wish they would send someone to clean for me :)

Have to go out now and buy him more clothes as he has been sent back in shorts and a thin t shirt and its bloomin cold today anything I dress him in never comes back so I have gradually run out of clothes over the last month and I gather they are all unwashed down the back of her sofa  hey ho that's life

  • DT, have you considered marketing your wonderful cake decorating talent? I have absolutely no talent in that direction and I am sure there are many like me... there may be parents having parties for their wee ones/not so wee ones (e.g. grown-ups who like cakes for birthdays or other special occasions) who would happily pay to have cakes like that made and delivered... quite time consuming I know, but could it be part of your portfolio of income generation? You could do as much or as little as you want to depending on how busy you are with fostering or other things.

It may feel like too much extra pressure just at this point (school hols etc) but you're clearly good at it and the mark-up may beat what you could earn on Ebaying stuff.

    Hugs

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Flipping heck when I needed (still need) help from SS 'cos of my disability they told me the one thing they never help with is cleaning  so how come this waste of time/space and money gets help (especially when the family taking her child in doesn't!)

What do SS say about the issue? As you are doing your best to help, yet your own children are not getting the same level of attention no matter how hard you try, you can't really plan anything for them.

Sorry, social workers aren't generally my favourite people.

  • Poor child.. I know its good that he is with you but surely if he is having a lovely life and routine with you and THEN going back and living like that for daily visits it must be more disturbing for him!? Not sure what the answer is but surely she hasn't (and still isn't) doing enough to have the luxury of long contacts anyway?

words fail me on the SS front as they are a law until themselves..

you're sounding a lot more positive today..good luck with ebay
  • What the others said- although in all fairness she probably runs rings around everyone- typical selfish type and her problems are for everyone else to sort.

Hope you get to say your piece though DT. :)

  • HI Im a lurker and subscriber and wanted to say hello. Cake decorating is a great business to be in, my MIL does it and she also caters small functions and can pick and choose her work. The only thing needed is the food hygiene certificates.

Unfortunately the right of access is the childs and not the parents and with little ones they try and make sure they get to visit. I read that while looking at the legal position for my daughter choosing not to see my ex husband one time.

I could also do with a hand with my housework! I cant see my hallway floor for laundry piles and being out at work means I cant get the washer on! If I was home I would do it!!

Its wonderful being able to give love to a child who needs it. You deserve an army of housemaids!
    Trying to shift that debt!

To be fair SS are not happy about the arrangements it is the court that is insisting. Hopefully she is on her last chance that's how SS see it anyway unless they are over ruled by the court again.

The person they sent in was supposed to supervise Mum cleaning but I knew she would end up doing it herself as Mum is hopeless and she rang tonight and said she had been doing it from 9.30 to 5.30 and it is only a one bedroom flat so you can imagine the state it was in I did ask if she would like to come and do mine :D

As for cakes I enjoy doing it for mine but I think I might find it a bit stressful doing it for other people in case something went wrong at the last minute :(

I am toying with another idea though so watch this space for that one

Kids are really enjoying their swimming lessons which I am really happy about

Can't wait until the weather improves so that we can go out and do things although I have panel tomorrow so won't have much time after we have done the daily swimming lesson.

Asked a friend if we could borrow his strimmer today and he has said yes and is also going to bring his hedge cutter and give us a hand the first fine day next week he is recently retired and I think he is a bit lonely he has been friends with my OH since school so that will be nice and we may at last get a chance to get the garden under control.

If we can get a babysitter we may actually go out Friday night as a group of our friends meet regularly and we have not gone for years but after feeling so bad last week we decided we actually needed to have a social life so this is big step forward and I am really looking forward to it.

So all in all other than the weather things are looking better:T

Hope you can get a sitter for your kiddiewinks. Time out with friends can be such a tonic. It's very easy to allow yourself to be engulfed by worries, particularly when they're financial. And yep, i'm talking from experience there :o

Looking forward to hearing about your new idea ;)
One step at a time ;)
