Thats the problem with frogs, they seem like they are giants, and then once they are gone, you realise they were only tiny.

Hey you! What a year you've had. I've had to scan through previous threads and this one to catch up...I'm exhausted! For now i will just give you a big dodgy hug :grouphug: but will keep up with you from now on x

Lovely to see you around hope you are Ok - I am still here but sometimes I have been hanging on by my fingertips:(

This week has been a low point with a couple of peaks :o the peaks were I have cleared out the greenhouse which was full of thistles and flying ants  and I have also sorted out the herb bed which is a start although the rest of the garden is still a nightmare. The other peak was that my little ones hearing has been pronounced perfect so I know she is just ignoring me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The rest of the week has been dire felt really low just wanted to run away and let someone else deal with the mess - finances are at crisis point and nothing I do seems to be making a difference normal spending is as low as I can get it but keep getting hit by large unexpected bills that I have no control over and I just can't see a way out at the moment

Have you done a SOA DT? Even if you only do it for yourself, it might give you some food for thought. Or else post it on here and let us give you out thoughts. Failing that how about a DMP would that effect your ability to foster? Or your OH job? If you do the CCCS web site debt remedy, it may also help you decide if this is for you

I have done a SOA for myself Chev and everything has been slashed - sky gone, I only have a payg phone which I rarely top up, food bill is down dramatically, only use elec no gas so no dual fuel deals available and already on lowest tariff I can find, the problem is car bills and the property in lanzarote just had a bill for a new solar water tank out there last one only lasted 7 years and that was 650 Euros, electricity out there is sky high, as is water it has to be tankered in 40 Euros a time and if we have guests in thats once a week at least as is internet but guests expect this - there is no competition out there to drive down prices and most stuff has to be imported in so everything is so expensive if I could sell the property I have now reached the stage where I would but property is not selling out there, we can reduce costs by not renting it out but then of course we lose income everybody wants a good deal so difficult to put rent up to cover expenses and of course when you get sued that completely messes up any income, exchange rate has moved against us for sending money out to pay bills, insurance is due, their version of council tax is due we still have to pay pool maintenance whether it is let or not etc. etc. so every month I am having to send a huge amount out there and it is just not covered by the rent at the moment we are not advertising it as that would be another bill to pay and I just don't know which is more cost effective to leave it empty and slash the costs but there would still be some items we have to pay or to carry on renting and hope that more things don't wear out and have to be replaced

DMP is out of the question it would affect my career if I can ever find a job :o and besides I am old fashioned I want to clear my debts myself without defaulting in any way - my credit rating is good never defaulted on a payment did have some late ones but not for years but we just can't live on less than half the income we were living on 3 years ago and that is the simple fact.

I am not running away from here it was running away from home I was contemplating I know I won't I wouldn't leave the family in a mess but I am tired of scrimping and finding that it still is not enough can't even face adding up how much we owe at the moment but I know it is going up not down and if interest rates go up what do I do then?

Can't really offer you anything other than hugs.:grouphug:

It must be a hard balancing act with the property, if it cost you more to keep it going than it does to rent it out the temptation is to stop renting it out. But then you do lose some potential income. As you say, everyone wants a bargain. Funny though, I wouldn't expect internet on holiday.

It did make me chuckle over DD's hearing though. Reminded me of Nan, who was stone deaf unless you whispered "do you want a cuppa?" :rotfl:

Hope you find a way out, but don't get too down about it. Plan some breaks away while the children are off, you are very fortunate with where you live in so many ways, its tough that living there also costs you more.
