Double Trouble - Nothing by halves

Thanks to Gilligansyle for the title :T - it is so true I never do anything by halves
I decided it was time for a new diary.
To those who don't know me I have two sets of twins aged 20 and 5 and two foster children - although only one husband
who is my soul mate and best friend
Brief rundown on my MSE life to date we started with a huge amount of debt which we have reduced substantially but debt busting has ground to a halt recently due to a huge income cut to less than half our normal income. CCs are all on 0% but we do have a large mortgage a substantial part of which is interest only and the CCs need to be cleared so we can concentrate on this.
Last year was a very difficult one emotionally for us as a family and comfort spending and comfort eating would have been my previous reaction but not this time instead debt reduced slightly and I lost just under 6 stone in 7 months :j it was so good to have something I could control (not in a bad way) when I felt so out of control in so many other ways.
After our second substantial income cut at the beginning of this year we have finally tackled our budget which has been slashed and I am glad to say OH is fully on board
and so far it has been doable.
Today is the start of a new six month budgeting period for us as we are paid our major income only twice a year - the new budget is even tighter than the last few months so concentrated effort will be required if we are to succeed.
I have also put the larger of our 2 CC debts in my signature as the target debt for this year - debt reduction is going to be hard and take a lot of ingenuity but I am determined to see this debt go down.
The other major aim is for me to get a full time job after being a SAHM for the last 13 years. I am prepared to work virtually anywhere if I can find the right job and OH has agreed that if necessary he will take over all domestic tasks so that I can work away during the week - not something I want but as I want to retrain I need to make this commitment for our long term good - he did point out I used to look after our eldest two when they were small on my own when he used to work 8 weeks away and 4 weeks home and that it was only fair he should do the same for me - can you understand why I love this man so much? There are two perfect jobs advertised locally if I had the necessary skills so I am hoping that once I have got the necessary training and experience over 2-3 years that I can work more locally or we are even considering relocating.
But first I need to get a job - I have applied for one and I am waiting to hear if that is a non runner I shall be spreading my CV around to all potential employers
So the aims for the next six months:
1. Stick to the budget
2. Reduce the debt
3. Get a job
Bring it on I am ready

Good morning peeps from lovely sunny Wales what a treat to have had such lovely weather over the school holidays :j:j
Back to school tomorrow so the blitz of the house will wait until then as we are going to the beach today :T:T:T but it needs it badly school holidays and tidy houses are just incompatible
OH is off to Mr. T's (with a list and strict instructions actually he shops well these days so I am not worried) as he wants to go out in his toy he picked me up from the car hire place yesterday bit of a contrast from fiat minibus to lotus elise but it was nice I don't get a chance to go in it often
The wedding weekend was delightful hotel faded elegance but clean and lovely the lady I spoke to on the phone must have been having an off day as all the staff were very nice and helpful we got our rooms early with no charge and even the bill was not as bad as I expected so that was a plusthe bride looked lovely and the kids had a great time, the food was very good and it was lovely to meet up with all the family on a happy occasion bit of a shock when I counted us up the family is dwindling despite our best efforts to keep the numbers up :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
On the money front still waiting for cheques to clear but we actually managed to start this six month period £9.01 in the black  which is a first so money transferring will have to wait until Thursday but I will actually be able to put some in the mortgage offset account and then draw it down each month to cover our monthly expenses but at least it will be saving interest in the meantime. Other money news I had an email from quidco to say they are paying me £3.83:D so that will be coming off the CC when it arrives don't get much cashback these days as I don't buy much although we do have a car insurance this month so fingers crossed although the last one it was actually far cheaper to take the renewal price offered so no cashback but happy anyway.
I am not going to be able to make huge payments off the CC but any extras will be going towards it and I am going to rejoin PAD so that I can see some progress each day and anyway I like seeing CC statements with lots of payments.
Bye for now folks and thanks to all those reading you keep me going
