When you've finished your cleaning, feel free to call at mine and do mine. I thought I was doing well, until sister called; she didn't actually criticise but it was all in the tone. And I can't blame children, school holidays, spare foster children, weddings, or in fact anything other than the fact that I don't reach her exacting standards.

Sorry Gill cleaning is not my favourite job consequently when I do it I really do it and then ignore it for ages :o so I won't be taking you up on your kind offer :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

OH and I have really deep cleaned half of the downstairs so still plenty to do as we are three storeys but it does look nice :D won't get to do much tomorrow as I have fostering panel in the afternoon and I have to look at the paperwork in the morning.

Enjoying a programme on Shropshire at the moment - is it a sign :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Morning on yet another sunny day :j:j:j:j:j

Quidco money duly arrived so another £3.83 has been PADded off MBNA :T

Had an email to provide an electricity meter reading last night and that has been done and as this is the time of the year that they review our account I am expecting a refund and a reduction in our monthly DD :T which will be very welcome our useage has gone down quite a bit but there is always room for improvement:D:

Two car insurance renewals came in the post  one will be automatically renewed so need to keep a careful eye on that one - one was up by almost 50% and one was down by £20 - go figure so some trawling needed of price comparison sites cashback etc. also service and MOT due on one although it should fly through the MOT so a very expensive car month:eek:

Well I have been naughty and put the heating back on this afternoon as I was really chilly :o but it is off again now :)

    Mixed bag money wise

Yesterday my elec company did my annual review and as expected I was due a refund but they told me they were putting my DD up  even with rising prices I couldn't see how that was right so I rang them up and asked them to leave it where it was and they agreed :)

Then I found out that my pay for the fostering panel is not to be classed as an allowance which I declare on my tax return and in my present circumstances I don't have to pay tax on but I am to be employed and they will deduct tax which I will then have to claim back and indeed a cheque that they owed me arrived this morning with tax deducted and various forms to fill in.As my tax affairs are complicated this means I will have to get my accounts sorted and go and see the accountant and so how I need to fill these forms in but a lot of hassle for very little money the other independent member has threatened to resign as a result :( there is also the question that I won't be independent if I am employed by the Local Authority so there is a lot of discussion going on at the moment. Panel yesterday was really hard very difficult decisions to make that nobody felt particularly comfortable with :(

Got home to find that OH wasn't back from the dentist as the battery on my car which he was using had packed in so my rebate from the electricity has all but £6 gone on a new battery

BUT I feel like a grown up today because I have finally put some money in my mortgage offset account and will be putting more in tomorrow as I had reached the payment limit on my account :j I have also sorted out how I can get it out again each month (as this is my wages for the next 6 months) I do have to send the request by post but it will then be paid by bank transfer so not too bad. I also had to set a static amount for my DD or else they would have reduced the payment at the next review to take into the interest saved rather than reduce the term. So to avoid that I have set the DD and I have increased it by almost £50 rounding it up so that will be an extra payment coming off the mortgage as well as the offset :j:j:j

The only downside is that although I can transfer money to the offset account online I can't see the offset account details or the mortgage balance online so I won't know the difference it makes until I get my annual statement at the end of the year :(

I paid in the Euro cheque this morning but have to wait for a letter to tell me the exchange rate used, the fee charged and how long it will take to clear  - lesson learnt I will not be accepting a cheque in future but at least it is money going in which is all to the good.

So generally I am pleased with the finances even got a free coffee with my costa card this morning which seemed to taste so much nicer for being free :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
