Thank heavens I learned to touch type when I was 17 - we could choose what we did on Friday afternoons in the Upper Sixth, and weirdly, thats what I chose (instead of archery )2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I tried clay pigeon shooting and ended up sitting on my backside :rotfl:. And I can only remember the shorthand for "the". I must have learnt something useful while I was in 6th form college but for the life of me I can't remember what :eek:One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

I did shorthand too once upon a time no idea why my sis dragged me along can't remember any of it
Well today has been good. :T I have done
1. Cleared son's room of my junk and all sorted and put away and bed made ready for him coming home on Friday
2. Caught up on a pile of filing
3. Reach lesson 7 on the typing course
4. Kids done lesson 2 of reading course and all going well
5. Took Mom to doctors for annual check up and passed with flying colours aged 95
6. Took her out for a cuppa bought plants and came home and planted five pots, one bed and replanted a container on my grand daughter's grave - despite saying I would do no gardening today it cleared up so I decided to crack on still a never ending job but at least the bit immediately outside the back door looks OK - the rest looks
7. sorted out stuff for Sunday School
8. Health visitor came
Really happy with what I have managed to achieve today still won't finish my list but that's OK it will be much reduced off to Cardiff tomorrow to collect son.
Decided that as from Monday I am treating 10-3pm as my working day the times when my foster child is on contact and I will be concentrating on all things job hunting related during those times
So I have checked my list and the items left are
1. Paperwork - hope to do this before I go tomorrow
2. Charity stuff - will have to wait until I get back not likely to be done over the weekend as very busy so will have to be fitted in around job hunting
3. Job hunting - Well this is ongoing but hope to make huge leaps forward when I decide to treat this as a job in itself as from Monday
So all in all a good job done even if I say so myself :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I just lost a post:(
I taught myself to touch type years ago, and in a past life worked as a punch operator (which was mainly numerics) - I used to be able to do 100's of key depressions per minute, but had no idea of how good I was until I found an online test and some practice lessons.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Canadian GP, except for them trying to find things to talk about, there's a limit to what you can say about rules about red flags, and how heavy the rain is.
Made up for JB, the win was very similar to his very first win for Honda, back in 2006 or 7, when he made his way through the pack, I think he started 13th or 14th; the director was too busy showing Schumacher and Alonso.

Oi you
:D:D well, yes, I am weird. Like Gill, I didn't know how fast I was till I gave up a career and went temping - Kelly Girl Temp Services tested me on a manual typewriter, and I came in at 77wpm
:D:D
You did loads yesterday!!! Good for you ...
On a completely serious note, I notice you went to your grand-daughter's grave .... I hope you were okay with it all, I just can't imagine how difficult that must be.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ok you two are now showing off with your typing skills I have a long way to go haven't been able to do any today as by the time I got back from Cardiff - did the reading lessons with the kids and had tea it was time for bible study.
Kids really pleased because the first of their prizes for reading came in the post today rear view spy glasses that are really cool so two very excited children and the first thing my daughter said to me when I get in the house was could we do the games on the computer so all good so far.
Really tired after the trip. Tried to book my normal secret hotel but none available and the normal price for the hotel had sky rocketed so presumably something big on in Cardiff so booked a last minute B&B which was nice but I hadn't noticed that it wasn't an ensuite room thankfully there was no one else staying so it didn't really matter but I hate having to try and work out if the bathroom is free.
Going to have an early for me night.
catch up tomorrow.

Forgot to say KC that my little girl's grave is next door to us so I go often can't say it is not upsetting but its nice that I can go whenever I feel like it without having to make a special journey

Your list leaves me in awe. My brain wants me to do lots but my body won't let me today, too busy coughing me lungs up bleugh.....

I'm really glad the hotel I stay in (which is a glorified B&B) has ensuite rooms, I remember that thing of constantly popping your head out to check.
For the typing, are you doing proper lessons? Or a free online course? I find it quite difficult typing on a laptop though, the keys are far too close together.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I am doing a free online course :money: of course :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
but am finding it quite good. I have only used a laptop for the last five years so I am used to the keys in fact it is the same laptop which will be 5 years old in August so I am pretty pleased with that especially as it as had a lot of hard use including being dropped on concrete floors more times than I would like always someone elses fault be still heart stopping all the same:mad:
Serious job hunting starts tomorrow and my available job hunting hours have been extended as the little one is to start unsupervised contact 8.15am to 5.30 and supervised from 5.30 to 6.30 so will be out of the house from 8am until 6.45pm  not sure if it is going to work as Saturday was a disaster with him shuttling back and forth from us to his parents who either didn't turn up or if they did could only manage him for an hour with support so goodness knows what will happen this week:(
I am way behind on diaries so going to have a quick catch up.
