I didn't see your post of two days ago till just now, DT - how awful for your OS - and you're at Alder Hey tomorrow, aren't you? No wonder you feel tired, even if you are getting lots of sleep. I'm glad you have your lovely OH with you....

Hi DT just wanted to give best wishes for tomorrow.

Hope your son is coping OK with exams at Uni as presumably it's exam time too, so the stress of these tests etc aren't helping. From your posts it does seem that the consultants etc are doing things thoroughly and relatively promptly, which with how the NHS is in some areas is a major plus.

Fairly soon not going to have much internet access or at times sporadic, I will try to catch up when I can, but if I'm not around at the time best wishes with the CV and jobhunting.

Thanks for the messages everyone it is much appreciated :A

It has been a funny couple of days I am really trying not to think too much about tomorrow and because of everything that has been happening I have been mega busy.

On the claim front we have come to a settlement which for my health and sanity was the best thing to do but financially is deeply poo so I am well into overdraft territory in my first month of my 6 month budget  We have also decided not to let the house any more so that will impact financially we will honour our current bookings but at the end of the summer that will be it which means we will have to find the running costs although they will be reduced we did not make a profit but it did just about pay for itself - we could sell but 1)the market is bad, 2)we love it and 3)it is an asset for our future so if we can hang on to it we will.
We could have fought the claim and we would possibly have won but it would take months and I wouldn't have done it myself so we would have had legal fees to pay so at the end of the day I am happy with the compromise. We have also through an exchange of emails managed to heal the relationship with the guests which to most people may seem irrelevant but was important to me :o I spent most of last night in tears I think it was just sheer relief that it was settled and one less thing to worry about.

On other news OS has finished his exams they were tough but he tried his best and that is all he can do. He has a design and build project to do so not quite sure when he will be home but soon :)

He has had time to further reflect on what the hospital said and he is prepared to consider the long term procedure if it gives a better long term prognosis rather than the quick fix which I am really relieved about and think it is a very mature decision and I am really proud of him so now we need to go back to his consultant take the advice that is on offer and make the best decision for his long term future so probably a few trips to Cardiff over the summer I am really glad he is receiving treatment there as I have been very impressed so far.:T

I got to wear my new black waterfall jacket yesterday for the panel meeting but made it less formal by wearing it with a black and white patterned skirt that I bought when I was on work placement and I thought it looked just right so I will be wearing that combination for my career coaching session in Chester next week as I don't want to be too formal for that either. I have sent all the stuff off to the man so it will be interesting to see what he comes up with but of course more money going out. I see it as an investment in me though like the clothes which will hopefully pay dividends and get us out of this financial hole we seem to be wallowing in at the moment. It would be nice if it was sooner rather than later though as we seem to be haemorrhaging money at the moment

I won't be taking my laptop with me tomorrow but will ring Gill and let her know how the op went and I am sure she will post for me.

    DTxx

Quick update from DT. Op went fine, little one is awake but sore, and not letting her Mum out of her sight. She will probably go home tomorrow.
