Beanielou kindly started the monthly chat thread in April, and quite a few subscribed, so I thought I would start the one for May (if that's ok with you, Beanie!)
Anyone who wants a natter about anything under the sun, pull up the sunlounger, get the curlers in your hair and the pinny on and let's chew the fat.
How is everyone today? I had some success at a carboot, a small profit of £36, and will be going back again tomorrow (free pitch tomorrow as it was a bit quiet today). The car certainly felt lighter coming back today!

Hello Nargleblast, can I join in for a natter?
Ive just popped some pasties in the oven and am putting my feet up while they cook;)
Im chufftie today, 3 weeks ago I created a spreadsheet for my 16 year DD so she could track her wages from waitressing and organise her savings - she has many wishes Glastonbury, driving lessons, make up, clothes, mobile phone bill etc etc - I thought it would be an uphill battle to get her to use it but this morning I came downstairs and found her busy inputting last nights wages and working out how much to put in each savings pot and then off she trotted and put the money into the relevant pots. I hope today wasnt a one off
I hope everyone has had a good day - weather blimmin miserable in the south but hope everyone else has had sun:)LBM March 2011 (what on earth took me so long?)overdraft (1) -2950 overdraft (2) -246.00total CC £12,661 :eek:loan £5000DFD 2016:eek::eek: (cant come soon enough)0 -
Sounds like your DD is well on the MSE way, then, canidothis! I think the current economic situation is making lots of young people think hard about their finances, which can only be for the good. Do wish things would stop getting more expensive, though - petrol last year around £1.11 a litre, now £1.36 -getting on for a 25% increase in a year!
It has been sunny but with a cool breeze today, we certainly have been lucky weatherwise this spring (so far - might be tipping it down for the rest of May knowing our luck!)One life - your life - live it!0 -
I had a go at makign cheese straws. Was really looking forward to them and they've come out like rock cakes!
Am watching the reruns of Downton Abbey while cruising this site.
Looking forward to staying up late and not having to go to work tomorrow!0 -
Cheese straws - I usually use bits of leftover pastry mixed with grated cheese, roll it out, chuck in a bit more cheese, roll it out, cut into straws and bake for about ten minutes - you have to keep an eye on them so they don't burn. They don't last long in our house! One life - your life - live it!0

Hmmmm home made cheese straws sound lovely. Have been such a food pig lately. Mostly boredom and possibly hormone implant. Cheese straws would not last long around me.
Reading One Day on my kindle and it's annoying me now. Just getting annoyed that the 2 main characters haven't got together yet but also don't think they are suited.
OH is off out fixing a PC for his x boss. So I have glass of wine, cat, kindle and Come Dine with Me for company. Oh and all the lovely money savers

The weather here has been fantastic.
Had a BBQ at my parents today. Left the car, walked there and back. I'm making a concerted effort to use the car as little as possible whilst the weather is this good.May £10 a day - £319.87/£3100 -

Evening all. Its a breezy end to a very sunny day here, great for washing on the line.
Might have a glass of vino as there is no work tomorrow, although will probably still be up early as DS2 doesn't quite get the having a lie in thing.
Hope everyone has a great bank holiday and a marveloous May.0
