Tesco Price Checker Thread #8

myalphabetgirls wrote: »You'd be surprised - the savvy shopper I believe is still very much in the minority. So many people are pressed for time these days that they will on the whole try to buy whatever is a great offer at the time they shop, like some of Asda's roll backs or special bargains. The latest one that springs to mind quickly is their countrylife butter - 50p for a 250g block. However, we all know, that once inside the cosy confines of aisles and aisles of tempting goodies, whispering your name, that other things you hadn't expected to buy or that you know to be "similar" in price to other supermarkets ends up in your trolley. Now these are the items that tend to be what gives rise to a lovely voucher for us wombles.
One of the best times I have found for wombling is bank holidays (not so much today, too drizzly) - Easter was great. Lovely weather, impromptu bbq's - quick visits to Asda to buy the spoils for a boozy lunch. Throw a light breeze into the mix and you have yourself a perfect scenario for a fully paid up womble's delight!
Aww, thank you. I do believe in Karma, very much so and with life as it is, so many of us tend to forget our conscience - it is quelled by our busy-ness. Its always a good point to start with life's dilemmas. Bring back the often forgotten conscience I say! lol.
Not sure about Karma...just calma down dear!:j:D
Keep on wombling!
Good post...in the most! :cool::rotfl::cool::rotfl::cool::rotfl:0 -

I can confirm that nothing illegal was done, The police had a 20 minute talk with him and they comfirmed that the vouchers was legit. He had reciepts to cover the vouchers but didnt need to show them to the police.
The police said to him that he has not broken the law and allowed him on his way with a few choice words about "loophole" and about how well he had done.
Yes, We broke the sprirt of the promotion and so did a lot of other people. When people use vouchers for websites that are for people within a email and then share with others that is a breech of terms. My own opinion is that some people are jealousJust as you have yours I have mine.
Tesco has even broke there own terms. A few people on this forum have broken the following rules.
Some people think its ok to break one term and not to break another, Some people openly tell others on this forum.
This is my final message on this subject, I just wanted to share, and yes.. If someone had told me about this I would have been shocked and have doubts but thats your own opinion! Multi Billion Pound company treats a customer like this. Its shocking!
The only person that is at fault is the tesco's company for bringing out a promotion that is open for loopholes, Changing the promotion and giving its asda customers 1 hour notice etc. Tescos own fault not training there staff to mark the recipts etc. If a loophole is open to people that will do it! Its human nature (my opinion)
If your going to use a loophole then you do it! Its personal choice. The reason im opening about it is that I dont care for this companys that rip the !!!! out of us every day! Enjoy!
Let’s not Forget its big company’s like Tesco and the super rich that have no conscience in employing Tax avoidance specialist to find loopholes in the tax laws and then milking them0 -

Perhaps it's Tesco (and their employees) who pay the most tax of any business in the UK.0 -
Tescos sell items from Channel Islands to "aviod" vat

not sure if that post is directed at me personally henlans?
hope you didn't take my post the wrong way-i was wondering if flowerclipper could elaborate on his/her story?
i wish you luck and am in no way jealous of your stash, i think i will be outliving my own:D, i worry if i died would my OH know where the whole stash was and what to do with it!!
i have never denied i abused the spirit of the promotion, if you remember previously what i did object to was the encouragement and boasting of reuse of vouchers that was all.......but lets not start that argument/debate again!
anyway thankyou for posting i do think it was brave of you and glad you did0 -
If i ever feel like i might have been rumbled at tesco i learned early on to iimmediately switch my camera on my phone to record...
Can delete file later if wasnt needed. Like once i was couponing back ni the day of giving in a mound of legitimately printed internet coupons... when i was accosted by a security guard (not attacked or restrained) just accussed of forgin them.
As soon as They went to check vouchers.. i whapped out phone and a recording we were going.
Suprise Suprise when they saw phone they stopped with the aggressive attitude... and in the end i had strong words with the manager and... a year on i never saw him there again (the security guard). And some might say i was riping the hell out of that promo.. but you gotta fill your boots and am not jealous of henlans stash.. just against the potential misuse of redeeming coups without receipts.
Conveniently forgetting receipt in car is ... 'alarm bell' time when reading it.. as it seems a little too coincidental that they pull them over on it.. and coincidence you forgot receipt. Thats all. If you can milk promo great, but if you do misuse it and try some dodgy things just be happy it didnt end differently..0 -
