Tesco Price Checker Thread #8

A discarded receipt that has one of two destinations: your purse or the bin!
Just like tumbleweeds across the tarmac on a blustery day or abandoned in a trolley. Check your Asda or Tesco for windy little corners of the car park and there you will find a wombler's reward! Some big, some small. Just bend and swoop. Take small children with you - its a breeze! They can climb under trolleys when your arms aren't long enough and then when someone looks at you funny - you just tutt and say 'kids eh!' Enter details into either Tesco price check or Asda price guarantee online and you may or may not get a voucher back. Its a lottery.
Wombling is "my thing"! My best has been an Asda one for £10.51 (best of all with Asda apg is that Tesco are accepting them as well so if your SA doesn't sign it to death at the till you can also use it at Tesco so its a double up win-win).Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x

Wow sounds like fun! I did it at Tesco Express yesterday but when I entered said not included! Will keep an eye out now!
If they don't sign the receipt and you reuse voucher will you get into trouble for doing that? thanks0 -
I just tried to enter my receipt details on the receipt checker, and it keeps coming up with 'please choose a date from the past' ?
It was yesterday's shopping, do I have to wait 24 hours please?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

The view of the board guides and users of this thread is that the re-use of receipts is not to be discussed."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"

Express stores are excluded from the just-the-difference price guarantee I think.
No, you've misunderstood me about the re-use of a voucher. This is not acceptable in Tesco - but if you womble a receipt in Asda which comes up trumps financially, you can use that both in Asda and then also in Tesco (as they are currently accepting APG vouchers as a customer-poaching exercise I would imagine). Only of course if your Asda SA does not scribble all over the receipt which she is entitled to do if she wants. Im just saying the Asda price guarantee vouchers are potentially double-ups.
I have been handed back lots of receipts in Tesco which were offered with a valid voucher and many times I have had then handed back to me. It does take a strong conscience to discard them but I am pleased to say my conscience is clear (self-awarded halo!). I have also had the entire voucher and receipt handed back to me on at least 3 occasions in different Tescos and have honestly handed them back because their till would not balance without it.
So, in short.
Big Asda and Tesco stores are fine for wombling.
If you find a receipt in Tesco which the person has not used their clubcard for then you could also ask for the points to be added. My Tesco have a sign which says two receipts per day. If it was a cash paid receipt its a definate yes, if the person paid with a debit-credit card then again you will have to look to your conscience as you never know if that credit/debit card was stolen.
Express Tesco is not.
Asda price guarantee vouchers could potentially be used twice - one in Asda and one in Tesco, IF unmarked by SA. Check here for an article from a recent Tesco instore magazine: http://www.tescomagazine.com/what-you-need-to-know-about-the-Asda-price-guarantee.html
Tesco guarantee vouchers are intended for single use only.Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x

No simply enter them now, to get them in the system for checking. You just need to enter the date for yesterday as 29 05 11. Copy the details as per the bottom of your till receipt into those spaces provided.0 -
