The two stores I visit seem to be totally relaxed with the vouchers... CS and supervisors just say "scan it" every time a SA had doubt and calls for help... sometimes they want to see my receipt but then only compare the numbers and hand it back to me... Is it up to the managemend or someone having a bad day or what? I really feel for all of you having trouble at your stores... I actually think I will never stop shopping at tesco, they are just soo good to me...

Henlans I hope you will sort it all out and the HO will just put your store right in terms what to do with the vouchers they have issued...

I also can't see how can they be so mean about 20GBP? Someone posted earlier that one till gets ca. 42k a day!!! surely 20GBP isn't reason enough to physically abuse anyone?

    Interesting story

Ask for still shots of the CCTV to start with - it will be easier for store to comply with Data Protection Act by obscuring faces of other shoppers on stills, but give them notice now that you will be requesting disclosure of the CCTV footage through your lawyers and that they are to retain it as evidence for court case

Reason for having CCTV on the premesis is often given as "prevention of crime" in which case it can be released for use in investigation of a crime, ie assault against a shopper
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow

The thing that gets me is that in normal terms you give them vouchers and they say YES or NO and thats the end of it. But I reckon the store REALLY thought that the vouchers were fake. However is this a way to treat your customer before you check? After checking the vouchers and confirming that the voucher was not a fake!

    For Example.

You need to bring your clubcard to redeem your voucher for the double up, now would you think it was ok to abuse a customer that "forgot" his clubcard? Of course not!!

Recipts was in the car, He has left them in there. General mistake and can happen to anyone. He did however offer to go and get them.

Double the Difference was a way to gain a good amount of goods for as little cost as you can. If you only did it 5 times a month or 500 times it makes no differnce in law. only a term and conditions. I would also point out that at no point did he break the law, If he did im sure he would have been arrested but of course was released as there was nothing illegal done.
Whatever you say, I'll bet you a case of Turner Road he was "at it" and the T manager had had enough.

One time in Boots the SA forgot to remove an alarm from my purchases and it triggered the siren as I attempted to leave the store.
I approached the security guard and informed him that as far as I knew there was nothing in my bag that shouldn't be there.
He then asked me to remove the contents, as legally he wasn't even allowed to touch the bag.
So my thoughts are, how do these security guys stand legally, if they did indeed wrestle this chap to the floor as described?

To be fair, I let them wrestle me. I'm 193cm, 92KG. I doubt two security guards at 170cm-180cm had a chance considering my martial arts background. ;)

If I had defended myself, I would have been arrested for assaulting them.

Tesco's were to call me back today, but never did.

I shall indeed be asking for these.
A bottle of wine was broken in the incident, it's amazing they continued to attack me with glass on the floor...idiots. :(

To be frank, some of these people employed as security are a fine example of care in the community.
I know someone who was beaten up because they entered a store via a door that was supposed to be an exit.
    Seriously.

I tried to walk away, they never said they are detaining me, nor am I under civil arrest. I asked to leave, they said no. Asking me to go into a room with just two of them, being forceful to get me in there...as if I'm that stupid! To be honest, they are quite lucky I didn't go into that room. ;)
