well there must have been enough witnesses. I'm surprised your brother didn't take up a a complaint there and then. Perhaps the 999 operator heard the threat? Its worth finding out

sounds as though there's other stuff that henlans hasn't mentioned though......

perhaps they had her brother on the radar from before? and how many vouchers without receipts was he trying to use anyway?

We all heard the same story so I just don't understand why there is all the talk about "being finally caught out" or something like that... I don't know how it really was but I don't think the security guys should have the right to knock someone down even if he was to use a voucher without a receipt... It just seems a bit excessive to me... they can refuse to accept it, they can ban him from the store but why being agressive? It's just my opinion...

I can post a couple of parts of the compaint to you.
On the 28th May 2011, I entered the Tesco’s store in INSERT STORE NAME to use vouchers that I received as part of ‘double the difference’ that you offered a little while ago. The vouchers are valid and in date, and I have the receipts to prove that they are legitimate.
I again went for my phone, and the one on my left kept trying to force my hand in other positions, but was unsuccessful, due to me not feeling like I should let him unlawfully restrain me. At this point, a bottle was knocked off of the shelf, broke and spilt onto my clothes which were the security guards fault 100%!

While on the floor, they demanded I put my hands down so that they could restrain me. I kept resisting, the whole time, as what they were doing was wrong and unjust! I managed to get a foot under the shelf and warned them, if they were to try and drag me, they run the risk of the shelf falling. He kept kneeling on my phone in an attempt to stop me from calling (Edited) saying to me “Stop using your phone or I will !!!!ing smash it!” I ignored him, and he then said “Last warning or I’m going to smash your phone!” Regardless, I successfully made the call, put my phone on loud speaker and put it again in my pocket

On the way back, one security guard grabbed me and started dragging me. At this point I made an emergence call to the police saying I was being unlawfully detained and assaulted by the security guard. I put the call on loud speaker and the call was disconnected due to lack of signal.
I managed to remove them both from myself, and the remainder of the time they left me alone with the manager saying “It’s okay, leave him alone.” He could clearly see I was calm about the whole situation, and that the security were too adrenalin filled.
In a summary I do not believe that you had valid grounds of me stealing, or anything as such. I was not questioned before being attacked by the security, no management questioned me. When asked about the receipts, I simply said, I will pop to the car, and I shall grab them. When returning needing to use the toilet, I received nothing but aggressive behaviour towards me and physical assault. When warned, they did not back off. The whole incident was heard by a witness, and I shall be seeking legal action against the store and against the two security guards. I will be going to the local newspaper and national newspapers about this, as this is not an acceptable way to treat your customers.

Will be interesting to see what happenes with this.

Breaking a terms and conditons means you get "aggressive behaviour" and "physical assault"

So you freely admit to your level of "enterprise" and your brother (no doubt trained by you) has been "enterprising" too, he then goes to Tesco without reciept(s) and tries to use vouchers.
Frankly from the pictures and your posts I find it incredible that anyone trained so well would be so stupid as to try it on, as you say there is no need.
I suspect that there is more than you are saying or indeed that your brother is just a bit of a !!!!!!, who became so overconfident that he thought he could do whatever he liked.
Just how many times had he used vouchers, once, twice, or as I suspect many, many times (I dont mean the same voucher)
I and many others have benefited greatly from this, but few as greatly as you.
So go on tell us the whole truth.

I wish I could post the letter to tescos, So much happened and in a fast moving place. He should have been allowed to make a complaint at the time and get cctv tapes taken etc. but could not.

Recipts was in the car, He has left them in there. General mistake and can happen to anyone. He did however offer to go and get them.

Double the Difference was a way to gain a good amount of goods for as little cost as you can. If you only did it 5 times a month or 500 times it makes no differnce in law. only a term and conditions. I would also point out that at no point did he break the law, If he did im sure he would have been arrested but of course was released as there was nothing illegal done.

well i don't think any of us can be judge and jury for what henlans and her brother have done or not, the amount of talk about reusing of vouchers previously i'm v surprised this sort of incident hasn't happened before-or perhaps people just haven't reported "getting caught".

i think you are brave to share the experience, it was bound to elicit mixed responses

i think tesco are now practising massive overkill a tad too late if you ask me, unless there are peeps still out there reusing vouchers.......
