My Organised House Move

I of course am not allowed to talk with them because only brokers are as 'they understand how mortgages work' as I was told today. I asked him how difficult it was to understand that I borrow money from them to buy a house and then spend 25 years repaying that money plus an extortionate amount of interest which then pay the salaries of idiots who can't seem to do basic maths.
I promptly apologised..... but only because I want a mortgage!

Have you tried speaking to the mortgage company directly? I know you have been told that they won't speak to you, but you should try and ring them and see if you can speak to someone who will listen to you. This is so important that I would keep ringing and ringing until you get through to someone who is sympathetic. I have done this in similar situations when I have been told that the company will not speak directly to the end user and have always succeeded in getting myself heard.0 -
Update this morning is that my broker has asked Accord to consider my earning based on the last two years and ignore the first half year of money that is altering the figures. We're hoping the they will agree to this and get back to us today.
However, as a back up plan we have explored a mortgage with Halifax who are now offering the same deal. They have agreed to just look at the two years and need SA302 forms sent in to show earnings as they won't accept the accountant letter. I've spoken with my accountant who say that HMRC no longer issue these unless there is an error with the tax therefore they have request copies to be sent to me but this could take 7-10 days and Halifax won't allow us to progress until they have then received them.
Apparently the seller is also starting to put on some pressure about when we are going to move. I can understand this as we all want to move asap but she has said that they would go back on the market if it takes much longer. Considering how long they were on before we made an offer and how long it took them to get back to us on several issues I think they might be pushing things! That said, I am very aware that we have tenants wanting to move in on 1st August .
So yet more waiting!

Latest news.... it's getting hard to keep up with all this!
Broker has called again (think he must be fed up with me and trying to get rid
). He has another back up plan. Nationwide is offer an ok rate and say that they treat foster parents as employed and will just need details of my payments for the last year
:D:D. The info required is easily obtained by my agency.
I've just found out too that the reason the seller is getting funny is that they are buying a reposessed property and have to complete in 28 days. We must be at least 3 weeks in . I'm really hoping now that their purchase doesn't fall through and put them back to the start. I'm seeing them tomorrow so will try to get some more info then.

Not expecting much news on the mortgage front today as it's my brokers day off. I have in anticipation though requested a letter from my fostering agency to confirm my year's earnings. I'm hoping they will send that through sometime today and I can get it straight over to broker.
Going in an hour to look at the house again. Made the mistake last night of watching Sarah Beeny's 'Help My Hous is Falling Down!' which was a big mistake, lol.

I'm only moving from a one bed flat with the girlfriend to a 2 bed terraced and the amount of stuff you can hide in a 1bed flat is mind boggling! Most of it isn't mine either as it's the girlfriend's flat.
I'm not sure I could cope with an extended family home!"I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
Tell me about it Riq!!! We spent today emptying half of the stuff in the loft and now it's all piled up to the ceiling in the conservatory . I can not believe how much we still have left after the amount we have sold/thrown away. I think our thoughts of moving ourselves have today vanished out of the window :rotfl:.
This morning we received the news that Accord will not agree our mortgage
:(. We have advised our broker to start processing the mortgage with Nationwide. Although this is NOT the best rate we are currently with them so believe that things will progress through a lot quicker - especially as they treat foster parents as being employed. We are only after a two year deal anyway because our LTV rate won't be good (85%). The plan is within those first two years to build above the garage and change the three bed house into a five bed. The house will then increase in value and when we come to remortgage we will be able to secure a better deal due to the lower LTV. IYSWIM.
The problem now is timing. We have only a month until our tenants move in .

Found out this morning that Nationwide won't do a Let to Buy mortgage :eek:. They would need us to prove a month of rent first which means us moving out of our house to temporary accommodation for a month and then process the mortgage. This seems really ridiculous to me and has consequently meant that we are now going with Halifax.
Lovely day today. Lots of washing done and now drying out on the line. Plan to get up to the allotment this afternoon and put bark down on the paths so there will be less to do up there over the summer.
I've done some more packing up of the kitchen and started again with the magazine pile.... which seems to have grown
.

Evening folks,
I'm starting to feel quite unmotivated about everything. Having one of those days when it feels like I'm not on top of anything and every area of my life is chaotic and out of my control.
I've a uni paper due on monday and a presentation to give tuesday. Loads of packing and sorting still to do. A moving to do list 4 pages long most of which is dependent on knowing our moving date. The house looks like a bomb has hit it. My paperwork for work is really behind and i feel like I can't plan anythign for the future coz I don't know what is going on this summer. Add to that my mother arriving on thursday :eek::eek: and the fact that I CBA with anything.
Moan over.

Hi all,
Thought I better update as it's been a while
.
Mortgage with Halifax has now arrived but not yet been sent to conveyancers so I have chased this up this morning.
Was told last week that no legals had started on my remortgage because the solicitors don't deal with Birmingham Midshires. As expected this info was wrong and shipways actually hadn't told the solicitors that we were remortgaging our current property.
Our seller has been told that she has to complete by the end of this week to get her reposession so loads of pressure. I've been back in touch with our solicitor who had been told by Shipways that nothing needed to be done until the end of the month. We have told them loads of times now that we want a couple of weeks overlap and they knew too that the seller was desperate to move asap :mad::mad:.
Anyway, at a push we are now hoping to exchange contracts by the end of the week and then complete by the start of next week.
i have emailed for some other quotes for a removal company but still have tonnes of packing and sorting to do .
Never doing this again!
