Interestingly Bayliss and Harding come up at Car Boots and in charity shops more than any other brand I can think of. They look like the perfect kind of gift but a good case of style over substance I imagine.

I've never bought the B&H stuff, looks good enough but just never appealed, glad i didn't bother now.

Did our Brownie bag pack yesterday, was actually good fun, most people seemed to enjoy having a friendly chat (i'm one of those people who talks to you like I've known you forever), guides did the morning and brownies the afternoon and in 5 hours we raised just over £400. Couldn't believe it, people were great, one guy put £5 in our bucket, I could hear his wife saying, 'have we got loads of money or something' as they walked off.

My birthday today and two birthday ins, a Aldi Lacura 5% Urea face cream and an Aldi Lacura Urea lip salve. The lip salve tastes of vanilla and is gorgeous.
I am loving hearing about the claims to fame.
Close - ups of me featured widely on the news on all channels on the day Tony Blair announced his resignation - but I wasn't named so I can't claim fame! Most people who knew me who saw it thought I had a double.

I was at Trimdon Labour Club for Blair's resignation speech and by a series of flukes got to sit near the front of the hall with some of the Labour Party big guns (who probably wondered who the hell I was). There was someone's grand-kid screaming their head off near me, and because I am partially deaf I had to listen really intently to what TB was saying, over the noise of the kid yelling.

The cameras caught this very intense, watchful, serious expression of mine. Actually I was really cheesed off that I was at a pivotal moment in political history and couldn't hear it because of this kid. It must have been a different expression to anyone else as they really focused on it... :o

It was a shot of me that closed the main Ten O'Clock News on the Beeb that night, looking so sombre. :rotfl:
My grandchildren thought it was cool that Nanny was on the news.

I am now off to eat more chocolate ... :EasterBun

:rotfl::rotfl:That is very cool and very funny:rotfl::rotfl:

Happy birthday, hope you are having a great day.

    Happy Birthday mcculloch29!

Thanks Charlie- i'm in the same boat really- it was too good to pass up on and I needed a swimming costume anyway. I bought the black with the white stripes across the bust :)

I have a huge, ginormous SOMETHING coming up on my face- it started as a flat red patch and has now grown into a huge red (hard!) blank lump! I'm slapping on sudocreme and tea tree oil but nothing!Gahhh!

    UU:
That free block of henna from lush- I like the colour but I am REALLY not convinced it's worth the 4 hours developing time ( I have really dark hair- I get called 'Snow White' because of that, my alabaster skin and my rose lips) Can't knock it for free, but in my opinion it's not worth the £7 for a tiny amount.

Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

Another UU for me - it's the pantene intensive conditioning treatment - WNBA - it's been lurking in the bathroom for years but forced myself to finish it off this morning :D

We do bag packs with Brownies too!! Hard work but the only way to raise serious money. People are very generous.

Wishing you a very happy birthday!!

I UU the last of my 100mls Jasper Conran this morning. Love the scent and used to be a HG but as I have so many others I am trying not to think of it as my HG at the mo IYSWIM. Anyway I have another 30mls unopened in my stash so I am going to work on some of the older opened ones. I have looked out my Lulu Guninness one for daytime, my last Issey Miyake and Narciso Rodriguez for evening.

    Another £2 in my pot.

My claims to fame errr - I gave Jimmy Carr directions in Glasgow city centre a few years ago. In the Hollywood Hills I accidently blocked Jody Foster's driveway whilst trying to follow a star map. She roared up in a big 4x4 with her kids in the back and went mental - furiously honking the horn and screaming at us to move !!! Whoops.

On the other end of the spectrum - Les Dennis at the bar in a theatre in London. Oh an Jane Semour in the ladies in a small theatre in Islington. She looked FAB.

Seen old Boris quite a few times traveling on the tube down in London.

I am on a wee roll here..

Also sat at the next table to Rik Mayoll (SP?) and Keith Allen at dinner.

Oh! I forgot that I met Ronnie O'Sullivan at a snooker exhibition and Ian Holloway at a book signing - I'm a Plymouth Argyle fan and he was still at the club then - he wrote a really lovely message in my book something like 'Come on you greens'... A week later he left to go to Leicester!!!!!!!! I still haven't read that book!!!!

Started using S&G breakfast scrub - it is SOOOO lovely!!!

Happy Birthday mcculloch!! Hope you having a fab day!!!!!
