Oh Bev! Poor you - no wonder you're feeling fed up with trying to please everyone! I can't imagine why on earth any reputable careers advisor would tell someone they are "unemployable" - if they think that then the fault is theirs, not yours! It's all well and good your DH giving you a hard time about not working, but he needs to accept that if you're not in the house all day, every day, then he will have to chip in and help around the house, with the kids etc. I do everything that needs doing here on the days I'm not "out" at work, but on the days I am then MrEH knows he will have to help out too. How about finding your local paper and seeing if there is anything part-time in there you could apply for, and then asking the careers advisor for tips on how best to get around the inevitable "what jobs have you had over the past few years" question at any interviews, plus tips on improving a CV that you're obviously unhappy with? On the subject of the CV - remember that it should be clear and easy to read - no fancy fonts or varying sizes. Highlight your personal details at the top in bold, but not in colour or by putting them in a box. keep it concise, but without being abrupt or skimping on detail that you feel needs to be in there. Oh, and don't listen to anyone who says it needs to fit on a single sheet of A4 - 2 pages is fine for a "regular" job - if you come across well enough on the first page nobody will have any problem with reading onto a page 2! Don't waffle, but equally don't be afraid to use a little humour but keep it to your "personal" section. (Mine used to include Organising a large local beer festival - wrapped up with the line "thus I have firm proof that I am indeed capable of organising the proverbial in a brewery, and much more besides!").
ROFL @ Kaz - are you painting yet?!
Avon delivery arrived this morning - they've sent me a lip/eye/face muti-stylo thing as a freebie but I'm sticking it straight into my freebies box for customers. Also acquired a free "gold strength" nail strengthener but again that's gone to the freebies box. Then the post arrived with an envelope from Glamour - apparently the free gift that was on offer when I did my bargain (£3 for 6 issues) subscription has run out (I'd long since given up and assumed I wasn't getting anything!) but instead they've sent me shampoo, conditioner and a spray thing from a Lee Stafford range - as all three are for volume boosting (the last thing my hair needs any more of!) I'll stick them aside for eBay I think - hopefully if they sell that'll refund the cost of the subscription entirely! it got me thinking though - before doing this challenge I would have shoved those items in the bathroom cabinet without thinking about it - they are totally wrong for me but would have sat there for ages until I eventually threw them out. Hurrah for the challenge!U/U Halos & Horns bath stuff (because it's free of all the nasties and means I can wash my hair in the bath :rotfl: Lazy!!)

I've painted 2 of the 4 walls and have put tester patches on the other 2 walls to see if I like the 2 colours together when they're dry. Now I'm avoiding the ironing

Afternoon everyone!
Didnt think I was going to get on today - OH's old laptop is so dodgy its unbelievable, after he fixed the screen upright yesterday so I can actually see it, something went hideously wrong with the machine this morning, started turning itself off and then when I tried to reboot it the screen went white but no buttons on the machine would work and no lights were on them. Was so strange - of course the only thing to do was to take the battery out which was nigh on impossible as it meant tipping the machine upside down and then the screen almost fell off!
Had a hideously lazy day this morning - ended up sleeping until almost 12  although in my defence I have hardly slept for the past 2 weeks (less than 4hours most nights) yesterday I crashed out and slept the entire way through the night (which is v. rare for me) and only briefly woke when OH got up....Feel so much better now though
OH had more good news yesterday - got contacted by a publishers (or whoever they were) about a big gallery who each year publish a new design book and want some of OH's work to be this one so even more printed press for him so thats goodEven better they are going to be sending him a free copy of the book too
On topic my deodorant is beginning to get the end of it's life, imagine it will probably only last a few more days thank goodness because it smells awful....Sure Diamond its horrible, although unfortunately I still have another one to get through
Also almost used up my coco body butter - its nothing special, cost my 99p in Bodycare - from the same range (derma v10) that they sell in the £1 shop. Its alright and it smells quite nice to begin with but then it begins to smell a bit synthetic but there again for 99p I suppose its not bad, don't know yet if Id buy it againMFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11
