As (I think) karlie88 said, if someone posted a Grabbit telling of how you could get groceries for next to nothing, it would have been huge pre-DTD, now it's a bit poo!
I personally think it is really good, I didnt know about those fairy vouchers and it is true if you sit down and put a bit of effort into it , you can still get very reasonable goods, and sometimes, even free goods. That sounds very good to me , thanks Adam.0 -

Don't know if the link will work, but it's here on mine (not signed in to ASDA either):

Arghhhhh bashes head against wall. What u are prposing is simpky targetting low value items an db ysing vo you pon to make cgeaper... Theres a coupon thread already. U get salad for 75p... If u go you o asda or tesco.
Hell I dont even need to do it with asda items. If tesco qas cheaper I.e bounty kitchen roll for one piund and u had coup for one poubd u would get it for free...same principle. Price check just makes items which are cheap at asda samr price in tesco0 -

It's like - you go out shopping and you have £7.50 cash in your pocket.
Scenario 1 - Asda: That'll be £4.50 please - you pay £4.50.
Result 1 - you have paid £4.50 cash and it's all over and done with. You still have £3 cash in your pocket to spend as you choose.
Scenario 2 - Tesco: That'll be £7.50 please - you pay £7.50.
Initial Result - you have no cash left and you have to go home and enter your receipt details online.
Result 2 a - You get back a N/A on the items, you have paid £7.50 for stuff that would have cost £4.50 in Asda. You have no cash left.
OR
Result 2 b - You get back a £3 voucher which you can only spend in Tesco. You have no cash left. The £3 voucher represents the money you would NEVER HAVE SPENT had you shopped in Asda in the first place.
Whether or not you pay with part of your shopping with coupons is entirely irrelevant as the coupons are worth the same in Tesco as in Asda.
The only possible reason why anyone would choose scenario 2 would be if they cannot shop in Asda, or if they are prepared to go through all that hassle just to bump up their clubcard points.
Yes , I understand that, but hopefully if you can get some more vouchers for different items, and you normally shop in tesco and it isnt costing you any more petrol /time etc, then I still recon it could work. I must admit I normally shop in Asda as it is my closest supermarket , but neverless, a trip to tescos is nice as they have a lovely cafe there and hubby likes it in there lol lol0 -
adammccance wrote: »It's not meant to be a 'good earner' - I didn't earn a penny from DTD, either. I merely got products for little or no money, same as this. My salad example proves the point - it's cheaper at Tesco by the fourth shop. With more items, a basket could be cheaper by the second shop.
Did you read my version of your examples? I really don't know how to make it any clearer. You are not getting products for little or no money, you are getting them for the same price as you would at Asda, except you have to go to considerably more hassle to do so via Tesco.
That's all.0 -

Yes, that is the link I have on my Asda , just the 750ml softener, but on Tesco it only shows the 1.5Litre one on mine.0 -
master_of_puppets wrote: »yep, they'll be better off buying xx product from t at £2, which is also £2 at asda.
asda says they are cheaper than t, if not u get 10% difference, so therefore you get 20p from asda. (however you need 2 buy 8 different items to make this work)
i think that's how it works anyhow!
Yes, that is indeed how it works, though obviously you would have to have bought the stuff at Asda for Asda to refund you.0 -

But I don't have an ASDA nearby.
I need fabric conditioner.
I have a Tesco five minutes walk away.
I could pay a few quid a week for my fabric conditioner at Tesco.
Instead, I will take advantage of their promotion and stock up on fabric conditioner for pennies while I can.
Alternatively, I could pay £2 a day to go to ASDA, negating any saving of time and money to build up a stash.
Yes, it's not for everyone, but for people like me, it's great. Obviously for people like you, it's not. Fair enough.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -
I feel like am hitting brick wall tho...
Other than instances were coon is more than asda price doesny work. More examples wint prove it I disoroved both examples that it was just th e same goimg in asda. Also asda do 10%gurantee so surely I edf be better doing such a system there findin th opposite deals to get extra 10%.
Realise irs ure baby but the math dont add up.
Thank the Lord there is someone else that understands! :beer:0 -
OK I'll quote myself, just so that people 'get it'.
Now granted, this is not as exciting or as lucrative as DTD. But getting a 10% discount on your shopping is better than a hole in the head, and extracting some bonus clubcard points from Tesco is better than slap in the face with a wet fish.
Thanks antrobus, I think it will be just looking at each shop and deciding which one to go shopping in on that partcular day.0
