Well that's a bit blunt, but then again I can understand where you're coming from. If the man ain't interested, the man ain't interested. We got that the first time he said it.adammccance wrote: »I'll repeat, one final time: for ME it IS better to go to Tesco, even with this promo in its current form. It may also be for others. You even state, 'other than x and y' there's no difference - so there IS a difference then: distance and ClubCard points!

That's all.
Correct, I'm not disagreeing with that. I am, however, stating that for many people it is more convenient to shop in Tesco to get these products for pennies. Yes, it would be 'free' in ASDA, but many would have the associated costs in time and money of getting there, such as me.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -

Oops, replaced one type with another. I meant to say 1.74 * 4.0 -

You put it perfectly above, providing one has easy access to both supermarkets. If one doesn't, one should do as much as possible to get the best deal from one, playing them off against each other.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -
I think you are all missing the point here, if you want to make money or maximise savings you need to turn your thinking upside down now and target more expensive items in ASDA as they promise to beat the price by +10% so for example why buy bailys for £10 in tesco when you can buy it for £14 in asda and get back £5 giving you bailys for £9. better still buy 3 bottles and use a Sainsburys till spit for £10 off a £40 spend (do asda accept these ?)
your cost is £42-£10=£32 your voucher would be for £15 from asda so 3 bottles for £17 0r £5.67 each. it doese leave you with tesco vouchers to use up but I am sure something will crop up sooner or later in the Tesco 1p thread!:T0 -

Asda , as far as I know, and I asked just before Xmas, does not accept any vouchers bar the item you are buying. They dont accept Tesco, sainburys etc at all.0 -
Good night all and sleep tight. Very sad day to see dtd go but at the end of the day I am sure we will beat the system again.

This is the bit that's misleading. You are not getting these products for pennies. You are getting the products for the same price as they are in Asda - by saying you are getting them for pennies you are giving the impression that there is some benefit to buying them in Tesco if they are cheaper in Asda. There isn't other than:
a) you get more clubcard points than if you'd bought them in Asda (bit of a no-brainer really)
b) if your Tesco is closer, you save on fuel (also pretty obvious)
c) if you have no Asda at all nearby, you MIGHT get the product for the same price as in Asda, provided all goes well with reclaim process
antrobus has provided a perfect summary of the whole Tesco/Asda thing now DTD is over, I would follow those simple rules.0 -
Well it is time to jack in for the night.catch ya around0

And it's still to the original value (DTD).
Hey, now THAT is a good tip.0
