Classic rock for the maypole dancing anyone?
If there aren't enough to dance I'll take the green ribbon as it won't clash with my hair!
Gx
You can indeed join the band, Georgie, I think we need a bit of ooomph to get us all going:D. Smoke on the water anyone?
I'm getting in a right old tangle with these ribbons maybe I should give up and join the band insteadThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Don't ask, Spoon, do not ask!!! (Or you would not drink it...)
At least it's alcofrolic. And well matured. And has some life in it (literally).
Hang on a bit, who has pulled all the yellow ribbons off the maypole? Igor? Yes, Igor, was that you?
Igor....when GeorgieFTB said Tie a Yellow Ribbon round the Old Oak Tree that was a request for the band, not an instruction for you.....you always have to ruin things, don't you!
Now get in the naughty corner!!!One life - your life - live it!0 -
I think I may have to go and have a little lie-down in the Tardis, Nargle, I think the gutrot. the sheep roast and knitting the maypole have all done for me. Back in a little while when everything's stopped spinning around:eek:

If the band is still short a member (or more), I'm sure my DD will lend us GD1 and her violin !!!!
Accidentally ended up with NSD #1 today !!
Went and did part of the next Challenge66 run today (just short of 10.4 miles in total - one block of 8.67, then a 1.7 loop later on). Today was much slower than yesterday (especially the last loop I did, when I 'escorted' a 10 year-old lad around as I was concerned he wouldn't keep up with the main group and could easily have got lost in the wooded area - turned out he couldn't, so it was as well I'd announced my intention to 'try just one more loop at a slow pace to ease off the legs' as he was getting ready to head out). Means I've done a tiny fraction over 25 miles this weekend
But the setup was different today (they couldn't get the RV they use as the headquarters into the park), so I totally forgot to track down where/who I needed to pay my £1/mileAs the parking was free, it means I've not parted with any money today.....
But I will ensure they get the money, especially as it's all going to a charity. The easiest thing is probably to pay for today when I go to the final day of the challenge (at York Racecourse on 20th May), as well as paying for that day. And the final day promises to be crowded, as they currently reckon there'll be about 200 runners there - including the 4 others who were there for the start today, as well as the young chap who didn't arrive until lunch-time (along with his Mum who's post injury and unable to run at the moment)Big question is whether I'll be up to the full 31 miles that day.... doubt it, but I intend to try!
If anyone's interested, there's a photo from the end of yesterday here.
(Hope that link works, as I've never tried linking to a FB picture before. It's not even mine, but the lady says she's made it 'available to all' which I think means anyone can view it? I'm next to last on the right of the picture, the chap in the white top is the one doing the Challenge, and the chap in the blue top is the runner I knew from another forum but had never met in person before)Cheryl0
