A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I would also like to join the Lois appreciation society! You are doing great stuff.
SquirrelPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Alchemilla, natty, GG, Calfuray & Squirrel, you are all very kind. Thank you. I am touched.
Meanwhile, I am considering getting a Santandr 123 account now that their customer service is supposed to have improved so much. If I can put the EF in there and get it over the £3000 then I can get 3% on it, which I'm obviously not going to get anywhere else. I'd transfer across all such DDs as would attract cashback, and leave the rest coming from my Halifx reward account. Likewise, I'd keep my salary etc coming into Halifx and set up a SO to fund the 123 a/c.
I'll have to do some sums about the cashback and the interest and the monthly fee to check it will be worth it. It'll also require some creative spreadsheeting to keep the EF and the bills money distinct despite being in the same account, but nothing I couldn't manage. (Oh dear, more fiddling with spreadsheets required, what a shame [/sarcasm]) I'll report back when I've decided what's best to do.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Thank you natty, GG and Koda. Koda - you are very encouraging.
I've done the sums, and I think the 123 is worth going for. I have millions of DDs, so still plenty to leave in the Halifx if I only switch the ones that qualify for cashback.
Marking to do tonight, though. Will sort out 123 account in a day or two.
PS natty - yes you absolutely should be here, because
a) We like you and we want you.
b) You're funny and you make us laugh.
c) Everyone is welcome if they want to get their mortgage down.
d) Even if progress is slow when you're on here, it would be slower if you weren't.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49
