Hee hee, that reminds me of the time we had one of those paper shades & our kitten decided to launch herself at it from the sofa ~ kittie was left clinging on for dear life & the shade was left ripped to shreds!! :rotfl:

Hope you managed to get your 4 boxes of decluttering done yesterday ;)

Got two pairs of curtains for £30 including p&p from ebay. :) Now I just need to remember where I've put the rest of the curtain hooks.

Still not doing well with the clutter. :o

Just thought I’d join all the subscribers to this thread(how do I subscribe exactly?) I can’tbelieve I’ve never noticed all these mortgage diaries before (Lois_E showed mewhere hers was when I started my own yesterday) and have read all 24 pages ofthis one this morning (yes, I really should be working!) and may join some moreas it seems it’s not just me who’s obsessed with saving money and paying offthe mortgage!

Talking of spending diaries, I have kept one for years, since about 2006. How sad! Lost a lot of it due to a virus on my laptop, but I never tend to go back to them once the month is over. Not sure why I keep them really. I could tell you how many pints of milk webought in say, October 2008, oh dear, I really should do more with my life!

Quite like the idea of a mortgage spreadsheet. I do have one, but it’s a very basic one andonly goes up to next April when my interest rate will change. I list every day and the daily interestcharge and then by comparing it the month before, take off so many pence ofinterest for the following month per day. So no complicated formulas as I wouldn’t know how to do that!

Got a carpenter coming to replace banister, then I need to fill, paint ceiling, walls and woodwork... then I might screw rose back into ceiling and indulge in a £2 light shade!!! Thanks for the link!

Thanks for subscribing, pollyanna. The more the merrier! Just above the top post on the page, you'll see a place where it says "thread tools". Click on that.

That's why I have my spending diary as a page on my financial master spreadsheet. Then I can make charts of how much I've spent each month in different categories, and compare to see how I'm doing. But then, I'm a spreadsheet-geek. ;)

Go on, push the boat out. I know £2 is a huge sum of money, but you only live once. ;)

Just wanted to say good luck to all the teachers getting AS/A2 results today. And to parents who've got kids getting them too. :)

Thanks grateful and misscousinitt. Hello also to MRN, pink poppy and Radish, and thanks for reading.

I am tired today - pesky kid woke me at 5am and although she went away again and left me alone, I just couldn't get back to sleep.

However, I am also happy. My car key died recently - wouldn't do remote central locking any more although still working if you put the key in the lock and then get in and put the key in the ignition and turn it quickly before the alarm went off, so a bit of a pain, really. I tried replacing the battery, but it still didn't work, so I took it into the Ford garage today fearing the worst. Helpful bloke reprogrammed it for me - took about 30 seconds and no charge. :)
