It's the real deal and not limited like the others....ie you can go overdrawn on it. The other banks limit their basic bank account debit cards in some way - Yorkshire don't.
I must admit I was quite impressed by the service, but it is a long time since I was last in a bank!Numpties...I'm surrounded by them...save me...:whistle:0 -

sorry if this has been asked previously but I wanted to open a Citibank account. I went onto the website but the only ones there are a normal one (you have to have an income of at least £20,000 a yr) or a gold one (£50,000 a yr). I can't see the sterling one on the website, am I looking in the wrong place?
Can anyone help?
I was thinking of applying for the basic account with HSBC or with Clydesdale but not sure yet.
thanks xx
Ignore the previous Citibank threads, their criteria seems to be different now to how it was previously, and they are declining people now, whereas previously it was fairly easy to get the account.0 -
aw damn, that is soo typical!! I've applied for the Halifax Easycash account online now, hope I get that!

If you want a good debit card, have you tried -
Barclays - Issue a Visa Debit Connect card, only difference to main current account is lack of Cheque Guarantee facility.
Lloyds TSB - Also issue a Visa Debit, as opposed to Electron.
Yorkshire Bank - Maestro Card issued, not Solo as previously.

Help needed please.
Lloyds TSB/Barclays issue Visa Debit cards Yorkshire Maestro.
Do you still have to go to a branch to open any of the above also reading other posts does the Maaestro card allow you an o/draft.
Currently with co-op a/c fine as is service but Electron card a nightmare hence need for change.

Yes, you need to go to branch. Barclays basic bank account could also be opened by post as well as branch (envelope provided).0 -

LTSB basic bank accounts can let you withdraw money from their machines only. Therefore, you can't you any other machines.
Barclays basic bank account allows you to withdraw from any cash machine.0
