Basic bank accounts are not normally credited scored. They will just do an identity check.

The only bank I know that does a credit search is Natwest/RBS.

My situation is bad credit history, CCJ's etc.. built up in a previous relationship.Have just returned to the uk and found employment and obviously I need a bank account to receive my wages before I can address my debts. Have ID but foolishly did not maintain my bank accounts when I moved abroad a couple of years ago.To be honest if a bank did a check then they wouldn't toch me, nor would I to be honest so I don't blame them. Was just looking for a very basic account where no questions are asked really.Am I being unrealustic? I want no extras just deposit and withdrawal facility.

Lloyds TSB, RBS and Natwest restrict their card use to their own ATMs you can apply online though.

Or give the co op bank a call to make an application.
