• yes ive recently ordered a rug myself, after often looking at what i thought byfirst appearances to be a very attrractive site. They have awful or non existant customer service, and i am desperately trying to see if im ever going to get my rug, wont ever order from them again, i dont know how they can keep on advertising and luring people in.
• What I can't understand about Achica is that they can sell something, take the money for it up front and then say that it is not in stock. Their business model is that they obtain the goods that they know they've already sold and received payment for. Apart from being totally disorganised, what really can go wrong?
I know from experience though that they frequently claim that things are out of stock weeks after the order and payment has been made (and usually after the delivery has meant to have happened)
The other problem, and this is surprising in a mail order company, is the quality of packaging. I've just received a framed poster which was packaging in a flattened cardboard box and nothing else. Unsurprisingly it was damaged and they cannot get a replacement.
• Wish I had read these posts...my experience is different in that the item arrived swiftly but turned out to be "vintage" (read: dirty, damaged). The fact that this was "preloved" (ha!) was not indicated in the offer description, item title, order paperwork. Customer servicesdirected me to the small print at the end of a very long item care description (which was not displayed on main page - surprise, surprise!). Surely this can't be legal?
• Wow! I don't recognize the company through these comments. I LOVE the site and have always received great products. It states that delivery is generally around 1 month but I saved £300 on a watch, £60 on a Nespresso, £80 on Orla Keily bed linen so I will not be complaining.

I, on the otherhand am not using my only post to sing the praises of or denigrate a company (suspicious much?)

The items I have recieved from ACHICA are great and as long as you check that the price with P&P is worth it (sometimes available for the same price/cheaper elsewhere if you hunt around) and are prepared to wait, fair enough.

HOWEVER: approx half of my items did not arrive - one set was "returned to the warehouse" because the courier couldn't read the notice to deliver it to my neighbour (the warehouse is apparently a black hole from which nothing may return). Another set of items was "lost" by the courier, and one arrived faulty. Whilst these things happen, and I was refunded promptly, what I wanted, coming up to christmas, was the items, not a refund.

Their sales model appears to mean that if items are lost/faulty etc it they have difficulty replacing them, so only order if you don't mind one way or another if you get the item, and can put up with your money being held by someone else for 6 weeks whilst you find out if it will arrive or not.
:AA/give up smoking (done) :)
• I called the registered address in Cheltenham after being ignored on the generic email and I was told that they do not give out a telephone number but they have a contact who is head of customer services. I suggest people email her and then she can gauge for herself how bad the customer service that her company and department delivers is - beth@achica.com
• Ok so generally I have been happy with my purchases from though they do deliver much later and in split packages. Customer service could definately be better/quicker and a telephone number essential but not provided as already noted by everyone else. I have tried to cancel orders before they despatch but have thus far not been successful as they reply by saying they left the warehouse this morning. You can forget returns as its at your expense and v expensive for bulky items. Tthough the site says you have option to refuse delivery this is never possible as the delivery guys have either thrown packages over garden fences or left in open unsecure porch and claimed items were delivered and signed for despite this being impossible as I was never there and no other person had been assigned to receive goods on my behalf. Reluctant to order again as have since found out you can get same items at same or cheaper at the likes of TKMAX and others. :-(
• you can get through to them on 01242 224 114

they will say "Hello, Wiggins" but say you would like to speak to Achica (its the same office or something) and they will give you an email so say you have tried emailing and would really like to speak to someone. They might put you on hold and then say theyre are unavaialble. Keep trying!!!! You will get through eventually!!! Good luck!!!
• After seeing their lovely ad on TV I signed up and bought some textiles. It took weeks to be delivered. The delivery person did not ring the bell (My OH and daughter were both in the house ) but just left the item propped up against the door. When I got home the package was soaked through. Customer service was useless and refused to replace the items. never again!
• Am considering making a large purchase of a mattress through Achica but have just seen all these negative comments!! Have many people had positive experiences? Thanks in advance.
