Has anyone had any experience of using achica.com?
I ordered a garden bench in February and am still waiting for delivery, they take money upfront as well.:(

    I ordered a garden swing seat about two months ago and it was due to be delivered around the 10th to 12th June. When it did not arrive I e-mailed them and they told me the supplies were coming in next week. Delivery would be after that and I would receive a phone call 48 hours before to arrange delivery. I have now had an e-mail saying the supplier has not sent enough and they cannot get any more. They are going to refund me in full but they have had the money all this time. It is the first time I have used this company but also have another item on order. That is due at the end of June. I will give them a second chance and see if this arrives on time. I was going to order a Jura coffee maker but now I am having doubts.:(
  • :( I bought goods on 4/7/11 and as you say they take money up front, im still waiting, e-mail replies are vague at best tell me "despatch in progress" no dates !! i wrote yesterday complaining about length of time and asking why the money is making interest in there account. I asked for a refund to be told the goods are on order and i,d have to wait till they arrive and return them, its an absolute disgrace, its the first time i've had to complain about online purchases.
    No second chance from me.:mad:

    I won't be using them again, their service and attitude is unacceptable. Recently I purchased 4 small items, the eta was approximately a month later. The goods hadn't arrived I chased it up and was told they were outstanding one of the pieces and would ship when complete.
    More than two weeks later I still hadn't received the goods and after waiting over 2 days got a reply, they were two items short! They shipped these quite quickly after the chase but I got a snotty despatch message email the day before they were to ship telling me I must be in to receive the goods! (hello your the one that were late achica, some of us have a life).

    I got the two pieces ( thankfully I have a nice neighbour), to add insult one of the pieces doesn't work. I can't be bothered with the hassle of returning it as at this stage it would appear futile. And you'd think at the very least I would have been given a money off coupon to compensate for their incompetence in the initial service.

    Basically I don't rate or trust them anymore and they will getting no further business from me.

    To give achica it's due they have refunded me without request and contacted me to tell me. So fair play to them for this.

    I ordered some things from them the other week and received part of the order very quickly and received a very polite email immediately when I enquired when I was likely to receive the rest.

    I have since placed another order which I need for Christmas so hope it won't take too long!

    I must say I've lost faith in them and won't be spending with them again, once bitten & all that!

    I purchase because I want something and to get it in good condition, not on the off chance I might get it and when it suits them in what ever condition.

    Accounting for the fact that people including myself post about the negative side of things when they aggrieved and my experience could have been a fluke, looking on this and other forums there seems to be a consistent pattern of poor customer service that they have failed to address in a professional and constructive manner.

    Joined in July and have placed a few orders with them. So far two missing items and one damaged. One was found and resent. Still waiting for the other to be resolved.

    I won't be buying from them again.

    The delivery times are made quite clear and yes they take the money immediately, but with that as their mode of operation I've had no problem at all with them.
    All my stuff has arrived roughly when due, very well packaged.

    Yes the eta delivery times are made clear, but what they don't do is contact you when they can not ship in this period. I ordered items that were meant to arrive approximately a month after the order I contacted them about two days after the order failed to arrive when I got a reply it was that there was one item short and were waiting for it, when I chased this again about a fortnight later they told me they were two items short!

    My first order with them was faultless, but you do really need to check if your getting a bargain as the delivery charges are quite high. I did start to feel I was purchasing end of line & overstock. I can do this by going to tkmax and actually check the product.
