Sorry to ask a dumb question but I keep hearing about the recipe thread. Where is it please? I want to browse it. I have seen some of the recipes on THIS thread and they are lovely so I thought I should take a look at the rest and maybe get some ideas.0

espresso21 If you look at the very first page of this thread there are links there to various help threads like a recipe one (I think that is what you/everyone means)...

Have finalised my MrS shop for tomorrow now, will be around £45 on groceries (shamefully about £25 on alcohol but that's a different budget)..
Hope everyone is doing well tonight

Small fresh shop in Mr S tonight to cover DH and DS when I am away sunning myself in Majorca for the weekend and some deoderant for DH. £13.21 to add and another £1.84 spent in the canteen over the last 2 days. I am adding this to my total as I don't want to spend to much/anything there.
Total stands at £98.52 out of my £150 budget but there is loads in and lots of bread in the freezer so I should not need to buy anything until next weekend. It is still going to be tight to last me until the 21st but the closer I can get to the target the better.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Thanks 69chick, I just found it and was just popping back here to say so when I saw your message. There's loads of recipes on there - so much to try - very exciting!0

You're not out of control, you're grieving, and that's ok. You're allowed to do that, and to be completely honest, better you fall apart now and get it over with, than bottle it up for years, and then have a major meltdown. One week in the scheme of things isn't too bad - there are worse things. The main thing for you right now is to let yourself grieve, and if that means you don't focus on your gc for a month or two, then so be it. Put yourself first. xx
GC wise, nsd today. Good really, as I'm so far past my budget it's unreal!! Still, will be nsds on fri sat and sun too, as going away. I am going out for dinner, but oh paying. However, I'm buying myself a camera, which will cost about 4 months' gc money! I'm doing a diploma in photography, and it's keeping me out of the shops as i need to study! Unfortunately, I do need the camera, but I may be able to earn that back by doing portraits for friends and family and charging a little bit.
Had the pork in foil today, thanks to whoever suggested that. Sprinkled some herbs on top before closing, and it was really nice. Kind of like roast pork but without the hassle! Tomorrow having something quick for the children as it's swimming lesson day, prob tomato soup, and I'll have something from the freezer that's seen better days, or an ood pack of something from the pantry! Monday sees the start of half term, and I'm fairly organised with food, just need to stick to it!
Night all, and prayers for those who aren't quite themselves at the moment.

Don't beat yourself up about it destroyerofdebt - you may be comfort eating and spending at the moment but that's because of shock and grief. Allow yourself some time and you will get back to it soon.0

scotsaver what's Cumberland Pie?
I was wondering too, and remembered I had got a reduced cottage pie and a reduced cumberland pie in the freezer (both from Waitrose at 50p each) so I had a look and the cottage pie is beef mince topped with mash. The cumberland pie is a cottage pie, then further topped with breadcrumbs and cheese.0 -

there's no such thing as a dumb question! it would be dumb not to ask!!
if you look at post #6 on the front page of this thread, there's a list of links under Useful OS ThreadsThe Complete Cooking Collection is listed there, that's probably the one you mean, there's also a link to Zippy's great new Vegetarian Collection.
So much useful stuff here, just ask, I'm sure we'll have a thread about it! :rotfl:
eta I see 69chick beat me to it - I'm not typing as fast as I used to
my dd is a 69chick too!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
