I bought a new desktop pc 2 months ago with no os on it, so bought a brand new sealed version of Windows 7 home premium off an auction site (not ebay), all was good now it keeps coming up asking me to verify it and says its a counterfeit copy!:mad::mad:
The seller has since closed his account (typical), is there anytihng i can do, and is there anyway round not having to buy another version from Microsoft for I think the £80 they are quoting?
Thanks in advance

Not much other than reporting to ebay - Paypal if you used Paypal (but might not be within the period to make claims if allowed).
If you want any compensation, it would most likely come through small claims court against the seller.0 -
Did you compare the DVDs you received with these:

I wouldn't be so quick to go by what the warning said. I've had that twice for win 7, after an update, then it seemed to sort itself out. Mine was genuine. Your product still may be so.
Try going back to a previous date, and then re-installing the updates one-by-one.

Three disks?
I bought Home Premium Retail, 2 dvds in one box, one 32 bit and one 64 bit.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Make sure the date and time on your computer is correct. WGA check can fail if the date of your computer is wrong. I had one this week which did that because I'd stupidly set the date to 20th March 2011 instead of 20th April 2011 when I'd changed the CMOS battery.0

Sorry everyone was looking at worng disks
:o:o
Was looking at my MS Office 2010 ones
My Windows 7 has got 2 DVD's, one 64 bit and one 32 bit, they're both green centre with the hologram around the outside, but when you feel the wavy edge where the hologram finishes, theres a slight lip before the edge of the disc? (Cant make out of its a sticker well applied, or where machining/laser cutting finishes)0
