I think 12 weeks like everyone else unless you are ill and want to let them know because being off for pregnancy doesn't count against you. Also you don't have to make up the time when you have scans and stuff if they know.

I think you have to let them know by 24 weeks though (although they probably would guess before then)

I think you have ages before you HAVE to tell them at work, but probably tell your bosses when you get to your 12 weeks. Don't be too harsh on your hubbie, all this baby stuff is quite alien to them. Some really aren't that interested in pregnancy, some overly interested, but all are interested once their little bundle of joy arrives. Admittedly it can take them a little while to get used to it that too! It may be on your mind constntly but he may not be thinking about it all the time.

Also, don't be too worried about weight gain - they used to weigh you at the midwives, but i think after an inital weigh they don't anymore. I put 4 stone on !!! With my first, 3 stone with my second and then only 2 stone with the last 2. I lost most of it without any effort each time, apart from perhaps 1ish stone each time. Hence I now need to loose 4 stone!!!! Although frankly I will be happy with 3.

Back on my exercise and healthy eating today after feeling such a numpty for gainging weight on Monday night.

thanks olokia and megan, will keep that in mind. i got weighed today and the gp said, oh you have kept this weight since last year. i wasnt happy because that weight was the weight i had gained from the stupid implant in me. :( grrr

got a sore throat today so have to go stock up on paracetamols. megan one of my friends say once you start breast feeding, the weight falls off. is that true?

Thanks for telling me about the hubby.. i feel bad now. think i got way too emotional and just lashed out at him. think he os a bit overwhelmed as we said ages ago we would sort of like a baby after 1 year of being married but its happend, and think he is worried about money. he doesnt chat about it much so when he is thinking, he goes really quiet and then i start assuming lots of things and then we argue.:( think will leave him to it. he is out as we speak to his xmas lunch so hope he enjoys it. i feel bad now, esp now i am thinking a bit rationally. oops

not hungry yet but got my spag bolg from the other day. :) better head off to buy the secret santa present.. hmmm

Thanks Rups. Seriously, don't feel bad about it, he will be having a ball on his Christmas lunch. It can be difficult financially, but you find ways to cope. Just focus on the positive - you are going to be a MUMMY!
